Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
One day I'll come up with the perfect blurb to capture my unique
and multifaceted personality; one that communicates my
gentleness-informed-by-strength, sense of humor, and desire to
learn & grow.
Today is not that day.
They say "There are two mantras in life: 'Yuck' and 'Yum'." I'm
trying hard to be about the latter.
I'm not looking for anything terribly serious at the moment.
However, I know you could get a hook up or a booty call anywhere if
that's all you wanted. Please trust that I'm not here to waste your
time or mine and I'm genuinely interested in meeting someone
I want to spend time with someone smart, fun, funny, and kind.
Someone who is interested and interesting. Who's not afraid be
sincere. So let's hang out, get together, make something happen.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved to LA from metro Detroit to follow my creative calling and
seek my fortune (lololol). Writing and directing is what I want to
do but in the meantime I'm producing videos for a non profit,
various YouTubers, and working crew gigs.
I have a passion for carpentry and woodworking, having some luck
making money at it lately.
I love music but never learned to play an instrument as a kid so
now I'm learning to play piano & the drums.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, talking, driving, ping pong, handshakes, getting people
together, building things, spirited debate, thoughtful discussion,
volleyball (ok not really), swimming, getting all of the groceries
into the house in one trip, making people laugh, drawing, writing,
skiing, enjoying myself, stirring the pot, triumph in the face of
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Lately it's my hair but for a long time it was my sense of humor
and positive attitude
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I want to hear all about the stuff you like, and then have smiling
arguments about it.
Books: Tell me what I should read, I've fallen out of the habit. I
love graphic novels, sci-fi, trendy thinky stuff like Malcolm
Gladwell, human origins stuff and also last time I read the Harry
Potter series I was 24 and cried at least once per book.
Movies: This should be a whole discussion but let's say my top 5
are Amelie, Fight Club, In Bruges, No Country For Old Men, and
There Will Be Blood.
TV Shows: Anything binge-worthy - Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones,
Mad Men, Girls, Community, 30 Rock, The Office. Developed a taste
for shitty reality TV like Millionaire Matchmaker and any flipping
Music: I find Rufus Wainwright's version of "Hallelujah" to be the
superior version and when I hear "bum bum bum ba da da bum" I get
excited for "Under Pressure" not "Ice Ice Baby". Like with people
my musical taste is hard to explain but it's fairly specific and I
know it when I see it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends and Family, my ambition, a sense of striving and
progression, novelty, a creative outlet, something to read/watch
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The big stuff like Life, Death, and Infinity but little stuff like
potential side projects, or whether or not my life goals are
realistic and attainable or some delusional grandiose pipe dream.
Whether everyone at the bar checking their phone is just trying not
to look lonely. Then I check my phone.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working, at the movies, loitering on a friend's porch, at a comedy
show, playing "Settlers of Catan", at home watching Netflix wishing
I had something to do but not wanting to do anything, really.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm trying to learn the lessons that tragedy is teaching me, and
live with joy and purpose and compassion and be better in
Sometimes when I'm browsing OKC profiles I'll think "Cheer up,
weirdos! This is supposed to be fun."

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're smart, creative, adventurous, and have a fun sense of humor
that strays into 'goofy' from time to time. If you know the value
of honesty. If your attitudes around sex don't paint it as
exploitive and transactional. If you're not afraid. And if you have
impeccable taste in men.
