Mr. Clean Seeks Rapunzel!

Hi, there! I'm tall, strong, broad-shouldered and green-eyed. I just turned 51, but I've been on a serious health kick over the last year, and I'm pretty much back to my old 20-something shape. I'm easy-going, funny, thoughtful and optimistic. I'm insatiably curious about the world we live in, and value true friendship above all other things. I love to laugh and make others do the same. I like my life and I'm baggage-free.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I run a professional theatre company that performs plays for children in schools across the country. I write, direct and produce our shows, and I'm happiest when I have all my creative fires burning.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Crosscourt backhands—my serve is hit-and-miss... Word Games—I love hitting those shweet red squares in Scrabble... Brewing Beer—I've got a pretty good clone recipe for Bell's Two-Hearted IPA... Cooking—I make a killer cashew-basil pesto and an addictive shrimp-bacon pizza...Backrubs—big strong hands... Bar Trivia—as long it's not about sports... Wrapping presents—I like that heavy foil paper and real fabric ribbon...

I'm really BAD at: dancing (absolutely hopeless), golf (I don't count strokes, I count balls), Sodoku puzzles, remembering names of brief acquaintances, and lying—I blush, fidget, stammer, can't do it, so don't even try.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My big ol' shiny chrome dome and smile to match.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I'm a sailing geek, so I tend to like nautical history and fiction; recently finished the 21-volume Aubrey-Maturin series of historical nautical fiction by Patrick O'Brian. Before that, I think I was the last human on earth to read the Harry Potter canon.

Movies: Funny, Action-Packed, Effects-intensive, or "Thinky" movies (typical guy fare, I guess). I like it when there's a twist ending I didn't see coming. Example: "Sixth Sense" got me good.

Music: Just about everything except angry Rap. I like to see/hear stuff live, but not if it gets too loud. Big fan of Celtic, Folk Singer-Songwriter, Blues, Caribbean and other World stuff.

Food: I am an omnivore...well, except for beets...why do beets exist, anyway? Quite carnivorous, but love fish and seafood too. I have a rather tragic sweet-tooth.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Bad Jokes
2) Good Friends
3) Good Beer
4) Strong Coffee
5) NPR
6) A Woman's Perspective (okay, I'm sucking up here)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I have a lifelong dream, to see much of this wonderful world from the deck of my own sailboat. I am well on my way toward fulfilling this dream. I'm rebuilding a big ketch from the ground up down in the Caribbean island of Trinidad; "Diva" is in her 9th year of refit, and Fiscal Gods permitting, she'll splash again about this time next year. Someday, I'm headed to the South Pacific, Ireland, the Med, and anywhere else I feel like going. So, I tend to have "boat on the brain" fairly often...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting my hiney kicked on a tennis court (my doubles league plays on Friday night). Then, going out for beers and yuks. We are, after all, "A Drinking Team With a Tennis Problem". We really gotta get t-shirts made.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Okay, my headline kind of let this one out of the bag already, but I have a particular weakness for women with long, healthy naturally-colored hair, the longer the better. Call it a fetish if you will, I call it a huge me, there's nothing more feminine in this world. And alternately, no bigger turn-OFF than fake-colored, damaged, over-processed or short-cropped, sorry Tammy Fae and Sinead, you're not my type. No doubt the fact that I can't grow it myself makes me hold Good Hair in such high esteem.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If on the outside, you're reasonably fit, energetic, and vivacious, with big bright eyes, a dazzling smile, great hair (see confessional above) and an easy laugh.

If on the inside, you're fun-loving, kind-hearted, patient, forgiving, intelligent, love word-play, have good common sense, are witty, honest, sensitive, loving, loyal, adventurous, curious, thoughtful and generous. You like yourself. You enjoy Life.
