My self-summary
So, while most of the people here seem to be here for vague-dating or social networking or friend-finding, I am here for a bit of an odd purpose.

I seek a rival, a nemesis, a foil, a partner in crime or possibly a sidekick. Basically, (and I know this will sound conceited) I am awesome. But I feel like I could do better, and it's difficult to push myself to become MORE awesome when everyone around me pretty much acknowledges it instantaneously. So I don't need another person to tell me I kick-ass, I need someone who will see what I am doing and go, "Yeah, that's cool, but look at what **I** am doing!"

So, a little about me: I am a Pastafarian for fun and an Agnostic for real, with interests in the Education, Human Development, and Philosophy. (When I say Philosophy, I don't mean drunken conversations at 4 AM. Well... okay, I do. But they better be about Plato, Francis Bacon, Popper, etc.) I am more interested in leading an interesting life than a "good" one, and when ranting, occasionally get a little maniacal. If it is a rant in which good things are happening, the subtext of my mania is "Yes! It could work! We could do ANYTHING!" and if bad things are happening, the subtext is "FOOLS! I will DESTROY THEM ALL!"

I am also a sucker for Bayesianism, and am trying to decide whether or not I believe in Scientific Realism or if that's too strong of a stance (currently I am somewhere between there and Functionalism in how I think). I will say this: if you mind having your worldview subjected to logical or statistical analysis then you probably shouldn't contact me. I'll just frustrate you.

Basically, I am going to change the world. Are you in?

I am esoteric, eccentric, and exemplary

What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I am going to PSU, preparing for Grad School. When I am not in lectures about philosophy, attempting to understand my homework, or yelling, "OF COURSE! IT'S SO SIMPLE A CHILD COULD UNDERSTAND IT!" I enjoy singing on the MAX, working out, (I like Body Hacking efforts most of all) and playing tabletop rpgs. (I used to LARP in Washington, but have not found a good group)

I am also the the Head of Research and Development for the Medieval Combat Club due to my ability to hit people with sticks.

I’m really good at
Strategy. I can dissect the parts of a situation into their most base components, figuring out the personal motivations and resources of each and every person involved, and then take that information and use it to figure out exactly how everyone in a scenario is going to move, and what it would take to change the outcome. This sort of manipulation is entirely a mental game for me, I do not possess the social talents that might normally accompany such abilities- merely the mental ones honed to a high level.

I know a few Confidence Games and Magic Tricks, and am learning more and more as time goes on. Meet me, and we will play a game that is both 100% fair and 100% rigged. It's fun!

The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the monogoggle. It's awesome attracts attention, and people seem to be quite jealous of my precious. They wants to steal it... yessss...

But even without the monogoggle, I come off as eccentric. I can't help it. I am a geek who plays with social and physical games. I am an ethical trickster. I tell people I am dishonest, and they believe me anyway, because I was honest about being dishonest.

If you are interesting, we may sit and talk until real life catches up with us and our appointments. :)

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(A) My favorite non-fiction books are all in the realm of business and strategy. They include Sun Tze's "Art of War" and Machiavelli's "The Prince" as well as books on business and sales, from "The Purple Cow" to "Why you are Dumb, Sick, and Broke." to "Influence: Science and Practice" by Robert Cialdini. I also like A Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant, Plato's Republic, The Will To Power by Fredriech Nietzche, A treatise on human reason by David Hume... heck, just throw the philosophy section of the library at me.

I also am a fan of The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. My favorite fiction series are The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny and A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. I also enjoy comics and graphic novels, including the Coutney Crumrin and the Sandman Series.

(B) I have an odd taste in music, that could be summed up with liking the following things: It must have a beat. It must have style. (No, having A style is not the same thing) It probably should have lyrics that are catchy and one can sing along with. Basically, I like They Might Be Giants, baudy sea shanties, Parliament Funkadelic, The Flaming Lips, The Rat Pack, Panzer AG, Musicals, (including Newsies, Doctor Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog, and Repo!) Tom Smith, Vanilla Ninja, I Fight Dragons, Jonathan Coulton and a host of other bands and singers.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything and anything. I am a whore for conversation. I love thinking about strategy and philosophy, but most any topic can engage me. And when I can't converse, I think. And sometimes I monologue. Spend any time with me, and almost every topic will probably be broached.

On a typical Friday night I am
Let's see... Friday, friday... after classes, homework, and sometimes a little writing... I usually pass out. 12 hour days complete with mental and physical exercise will do that to ya. But if something interesting is going on, I suppose I could get some caffeine.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really enjoy t-shirts with sayings on them, but the fashion that I favor makes me wearing such shirts to be a rare thing- typically, I only wear them when working out. I am sorry, but a t-shirt, jeans, and a monogoggle? That just doesn't work.

I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 18–45
  • Near me
  • For new friends, activity partners
You should message me if
As I said above, I am looking for my rival, my match. Not a romantic thing for me, but instead a matter of mental pairing.

Are you looking for someone who frustrates you, but you can't bring yourself to hate?
Can you counter my games and schemes?
Are our interests similar enough, but taking us in different directions?

If you think you could best me, send me a message and I'll be happy to see if I find you interesting.

But even if you are not destined to battle with me amidst the stars, we may still have hope for friendship.

Are you a geek?
Do you enjoy games?
Do you attempt to improve yourself?
Do you like to sing badly, and dance in the rain?

Any of these or all of these could make you my friend, assuming we get along together.
