I am intelligent, caring, and nonconformist.

My Self-Summary

My best friend recently described me as "interesting weird", which she immediately assured me is different from "strange weird." I like to read and learn about everything I can. I tend to be passionate: about the people I care about, about the hobbies I find interesting (which include practically everything -- if not, I probably haven't tried it yet), and about making the world a better place -- not by foisting my ideology on others, but just by doing what I think is best in any situation. I have eclectic tastes and I love music, art, architecture, exotic cuisine, etc. My inborn gifts are for mathematical and analytical thinking, but that is only a foundation upon which to build. I aspire to experience as much, from as many points of view, as I can in one lifetime.

I like to stay active and play (not watch) sports, though I am a social player and not extremely serious about any of them. Things I like to do: random travels on my motorcycle, camping, hiking, tennis, racquetball, softball, golf, cooking, spelunking, urban exploration, live entertainment (last events attended were: A Night with David Sedaris, St. Louis Chamber Chorus, Andrew Bird, Chicago Lyric Opera (Tristan und Isolde), Don Quixote (American Ballet Theatre in NYC), Ben Folds.)

I tend to be easily annoyed by ignorant people, and even more so by those who are informed but choose to take the wrong or easy way out. Closed-mindedness nor denial will ever be able to justify anything, no matter how resolute you are!

In my day-to-day life, I am a neurotic Woody Allen-like mess in some ways and a free-spirited hippie in others. I love historic architecture and walkable neighborhoods with character. I try to live what I think of as a sustainable urban lifestyle: I am not exactly an environmentalist, but I hate thoughtless waste. I walk whenever practical, I use a manual push mower to cut my grass and, until the Metro cutbacks, I did not own a car by choice.

What I’m doing with my life

Very slowly rehabbing a 101-year-old house in Tower Grove South, working for the man (while trying to sow seeds of dissent from within) and trying to pursue knowledge and new experiences whenever I can.

I’m really good at

Being analytical, planning, empathizing, cooking, guitar hero ...

The six things I could never do without

Friends, family, internet, books, air conditioning and freedom.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Being self-employed/having more freedom, riding my motorcycle (especially on nice days when I am trapped inside), thinking about the past and trying to apply my realizations toward planning for the future.

On a typical Friday night I am

... doing the same thing we do every night, Pinky: trying to take over the world! (Okay, the last part is a blatant lie, but really, Fridays are usually not much different from any other night to me.)

You should message me if

You are intelligent, creative, and/or have a rich inner monologue. I am always looking for new friends that can challenge me.
