My self-summary
Successful professionally, but I hope that isn't all there is to me. I care about the communities of which I am part and feel a responsibility to their well-being: my group of friends, New York City, the US, the LGBT community. Integrity (my own and in others) is key. I take many things seriously but have a good sense of humor.

I am basically relationship-oriented and hoping to meet someone with whom to share our lives. I am not looking for a carbon copy of myself; in fact I am always looking to expand my world. But if you don't like theatre and voted for Mitt Romney we probably won't get along too well.
What I’m doing with my life
Hoepfully I'm making the world a little better in my own small way.
I’m really good at
I'm good at my job (management consulting). I usually finish the NY Times crossword puzzle through Thursday and get Friday and Saturday if I really work at it. Friends seek my counsel on personal and career issues.
The first things people usually notice about me
Umm, my glasses? If I'm wearing a short-sleeved shirt, my arms.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm one of those people who only read non-ficiton. My favorite book is Robert Caro's The Power Broker, and recently enjoyed Going Clear, an expose/history of Scientology - really, really scary stuff.

My list of favorite movies is way too long, and ranges from Hairspray (the original) to Gosford Park to All About Eve to Days of Heaven to The Usual Suspects. The movies I enjoyed the most last year were The Master, Zero Dark Thirty, and Lincoln. I watch Bridesmaids, The Devil Wears Prada, and Bring It On every time they're on TV.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show and I Love Lucy were key parts of my childhood. I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Project Runway before it was ruined. I have watched every episode of Downton Abbey at least 4 times each. I am enjoying Nashville (even though I am not a huge country music fan), the revamped Dallas, The Mindy Project, Veep, and True Blood (solely for the many hot naked guys).

The music I listen to is, by volume, about 90% Broadway.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:
- theatre
- good manners
- Diet Dr. Pepper
- my United frequent flyer status
- NYTimes crossword puzzle
- Entertainment Weekly
- Barney's warehouse sale
Oops, that's seven. Oh well.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How long am I going to spend on OKCupid. Well, not really all that much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at the theatre.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Jeez, I already told you I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
