I am friendly, open-minded, and hungry.
My Self-Summary
I say hungry in the adjectives part because I am hungry for a lot
of things (least of which is food). I'm hungry for new experiences,
for
travel, for new
friends, for new books, for new learning, and lots more.
If I were a rich woman, I would probably never come home, so it
probably is good I'm not rich. As it is, I like to get out there
and do stuff over staying at home most days. Occasionally, though,
curling up with a good book or writing my laptop or just vegging
out is nice, too.
I probably am so hungry for new experiences and getting out of the
house because I was working full time and going to school full time
for about a year and a half and didn't have a life. Prior to that I
worked 70 hour weeks for a few years. I'm soooo burnt out on that.
Though I'm still a student at
Portland State
University, I'm not working currently. This means I can work on
my other projects and it has been SO nice.
I'm a married poly woman, with two kids and a
German Shepherd. My little
girl is 7 and my son is 16. My
family is great! I've put them through
heck with my busy schedule working so much and going to school
these last several years. I owe them a lot of gratitude, that's for
sure!
What I’m doing with my life
As I mentioned, I'm a student at PSU. I'm majoring in
film. I plan to get my
friggin'
bachelor's degree
(something that has eluded me for faaarrr too long) June 2010 and
dancing naked in celebration, drunk off my butt. I haven't been
drunk in years, but for this occasion, I would happily
indulge.
Once I get my degree, I'll probably get an internship either in a
film studio or television station and learn more of the craft of
the trade. But I'm not so sure I will try to get a regular job,
though. I want a break.
I'm going to let my hubby support me for a while. With his health,
I've been doing the family breadwinning for a long time, and now
that he is better, I plan on doing some
writing and some
movie making.
I’m really good at
A lot of things. But there is always someone better, and I remember
that. Otherwise I might get a big head. :)
Things I love to do (regardless of whether I'm good at them):
Photography
Writing
Hiking
Camping
Thinking
Reading
Learning
Shooting
Driving
Baking (I make award winning cookies!)
Making Lists That I End Up Not Following
Laughing
Watching Movies
Lots More (depending on my mood)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a big gal. I'm short. I have very fair skin that burns, then
tans. I've got tan lines right now. I'm loud & rowdy in a good
way, opinionated but not arrogant, and not afraid of people.
I've been told I have bedroom eyes, whatever that means.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Book: Most anything by
Terri Pratchett is great, though
Monstrous Regiment is my favorite book he's done.
Movie: No favorite, but I have favorites: Oh, Brother! Where Art
Thou?; Citizen Kane;
La Strada; Little Miss Sunshine;
Delicatessen;
Cabaret; too many
more to list.
Music: No favorite. I like lots of different types of music. I like
the beats and music of a lot of rap/R&B/pop, though I don't
usually care for the lyrics, so I don't listen to it much anymore.
If I listen to the radio, it is usually on 97.1 Charlie, because it
has a huge mix of different kind of stuff.
Food: Do I have to have a favorite? I love all KINDS of food. I am
especially fond of Asian and Mexican cuisines, but I like to
experiment and try new things all the time (when I can afford to,
anyway)!
The six things I could never do without
My family
My hands
My eyes
My ability to make and keep friends
My
imagination
My
laptop
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My kids, my husband's health, activities I would like to do, things
I SHOULD do, what needs to be on the shopping list, travel, the
story or novel I'm working on, that cute hunk who was on the Jose
Cuervo billboard...
On a typical Friday night I am
1) At home, working on the computer.
2) At home, rented some flicks and watching them with the
family.
3) Out with the hubby seeing a movie at the school theater.
4) With the family camping.
Or lots of other possibilities.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I've got a certain body part pierced that most women are too scared
to pierce. Trust me, it didn't hurt hardly at all to get done and
the result has been FUN.
Also,
bi men turn
me on. Why, I have no idea. But they do.
You should message me if
You like to do outdoorsy stuff, are adventurous, have kids (or
not), are bi (or not), are open minded, intelligent, on the liberal
side, are educated or at least very well read, and can write more
than two sentences about yourself when you email.
