I am nerdy, independent, and laugh loudly.
My Self-Summary
I don't really like writing about myself but I'm used to it because
I'm going to business school for my MBA and we always have to brag
about ourselves. I am remarkably good at networking for someone who
likes to
stay
home and
watch movies or embarrassing tv
shows like
Quantum Leap from
Netflix. I considers myself
hopelessly dorky and rather enjoy that. I'd love some company for
exploring DC. I'm originally from Northern
California, and, no, the beaches are
not warm there, but it is an awesome place to live for
dancing,
concerts and hanging out with very
chill, smart, world changer types. Still, the East Coast is a nice
change of scene and great for
international variety as well as a
heavy dose of
politics.

What I’m doing with my life
I am in my final year of my MBA program and really interested in
applying business skills for social good.
Social
entrepreneurship and
community development (in
the US) are most interesting to me.
Also, I am online dating now because my friend made me do it
jennifer1115.
Please address any complaints to her.
I’m really good at
Networking,
laughing at stupid jokes really loudly,
sleeping (it's a
talent),
reading
maps in foreign cities, telling the cacao content of chocolate
without reading the label
The first things people usually notice about me
Wow, I usually don't ask. Maybe that I'm female? I have glasses?
That much of my wardrobe is black clothing ?(not on purpose. I just
always think it looks good in the store and then...voila, I fulfill
an East Coast stereotype despite being from CA)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
Omnivore's Dilemma, Guide to Getting It On, One Flew Over the
Cuckoo's Nest, Lolita, The Courage of Strangers, Matilda, The
Amazing
Adventures of
Kavalier and Clay,
Persepolis,
Fables (yes it's a comic series or
graphic
novel if you prefer)
Movies:
Wallace and
Gromit (I kinda want to marry Nick Park),
The Incredibles, The Iron
Giant, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Pride and Prejudice, Billy Elliott, Good
Morning Vietnam, Dick Tracy, The Lord of the Rings, Austin Powers,
Robin Hood: Men in Tights, History of the World: Part One,
Snatch/Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Princess Bride,
Spellbound (the documentary, not Hitchcock though he is cool
too)
Music:
Pink Martini, Susan Tedeschi, Miriam Mkeba, Angelique Kidjo,
Omara
Portuondo (the only woman in the Buena Vista Social Club), Nina
Simone, Willie Dixon, Cream, Beatles, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill,
Nellie McKay, Cake, Talisman a cappella (Stanford), Sugarland,
anything country that makes me laugh
The six things I could never do without
1. Chocolate (dark chocolate, especially ridiculous gourmet brands.
It's a weakness)
2. My phone and email - my friends have this stupid habit of not
living in the same city
3.
Movies, for
after a long day or on a rainy night-- with popcorn
4. Pens, because I really like
writing (journals, creative stuff that
no one should read unless they need "What not to write" examples)
and mainly because I remember nothing if I don't write it
down.
5. Mexican food. It's just that good.
6.
Libraries.
Nostalgia value I guess. Free stuff is also a big plus.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
1. Getting a paid job.
2. School
3. How to come up with really creative gifts for people's
birthdays/Xmas
4. Boys. Let's be honest.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing my stupid grad school homework, drinking with my classmates
and complaining about said homework, or watching some movie/old tv
show on my laptop. I aspire to go
swing dancing at some point next
semester
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a third arm. No, really.
You should message me if
you feel like it.
You like sarcasm
You can be honest and open
You aren't seriously involved with anyone else
You like animals (cute kitten at home, slight turtle
obsession)
You want to go DC exploring with me
