My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In my experience, people take themselves far too seriously. As a consequence, they can't seriously take into account who they really are. Maybe the zombie genre is so popular because we play that role so often? It takes courage and curiosity to live outside of your comfort zone. Once you do, you will discover so more much about yourself, everyone else, and the world around you.

I love anything physical--hiking, cycling, even doing meaningless labor. Seriously though, the human body was not meant to sit in cubes all day. The fact that we have to pay to go to the gym and get our necessary exercise is hilariously ironic.

I love laughing at myself. For instance, I sit in a cube, I have a gym membership and I go regularly. Though I am trying to change the cube thing.

I love laughing at everything else. Things are only as serious as you want to take them. I am surprised at how many people want, or even think they can control some of the minute and chaotic aspects of their lives.

I love traveling. I have yet to find a better way to spend my money than to go someplace different and learn something new.

I love to talk about anything. If you don't ask me a question quickly, you will find several fired back in your direction before you know it.

I think I took this essay too seriously! I am an open book. If you want to know more, simply ask me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I work for a start-up company in clean tech. They would keep me there 70 hours a week if I let them, so having a life is something that I have to fight for day to day.

That said, I love to spend time with my friends or by myself on my bicycle. I have never found anything more peaceful than riding my bike. It clears the head like nothing else.

In a month and a half, I am going to start my PhD program at Davis. I am excited and a little nervous. Fingers crossed!

In the mean time, I need to find more photos to put in my profile. I had no idea I was so picture poor!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking and listening. I can talk about anything... well most things, but I will never turn down a chance to learn something new.

Making people feel comfortable. I am the least threatening person your will meet. At this point, I think that people that don't like me tend to be the most insecure.

Making people laugh. I can find your funny bone pretty quickly if given the opportunity.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Chocolate: if you wonder why, then you don't need to ask.
Compass: a metaphor? No seriously, there are just too many people that just don't know how to get around. Put down your smart phone and explore the world!
My sanity: loose it for a while and you will appreciate it more.
Music: this life isn't meant to be lived in silence.
People: this life is not meant to be walked alone.
Free time: see sanity.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing from the work week! I love to sit out, look up at the night sky and contemplate what life has in store for me next and how I can make that happen. And ice cream! Fridays are for ice cream--at least in the summer.
