My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I consider myself very well-rounded. At least once a year I commit to getting into something entirely new which can be anything. In the past it's been craft beer (Belgian dubbels are best!), football making it to my fantasy playoffs my first year and somehow ending up a Redskins fan (Sorry Giants fans, I can still love you. Eagles and Cowboys fans leave now), Tetris (made it to #2 worldwide on tetrisfriends and #3 on facebook at one point), weightlifting, biking (more about exploration and adventure than athletics), and Blackjack. Currently I'm getting back into reading!

I'm always up for an adventure. I will do stupid things and pursue bad ideas simply to tell the story later or laugh as it backfires.

I'm as nerdy as I am social. I'm totally down to go out for drinks at any time, but not always at a loud club where you can't talk to someone right next to you. I'm also equally happy staying in and nerding out in any fashion whether that's playing videogames or reading comics or anything else.

I don't really care to have a huge circle of friends so much as I do a smaller tighter circle. Growing up I had the same three best friends the entire time and remain best friends with them to this day. I've added 4 more at college that I consider just as tight. My loyalty to any of them is endless.

I value humor above the vast majority of things. At least half the things I say are for nothing more than to incite laughter in others. My humor is usually sarcastic and offensive, but these things are silly and should be disregarded. Sometimes it also gets plain ridiculous and Pythonesque.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I spent most of my life intending on going to art school, then switched to Computer Engineering late in my senior year.

I just moved to Astoria with a couple of my best friends to start working as a Software Developer for a major bank.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm very good at*

I like spelling things properly and using correct grammar. I believe it has a strong effect on the way you're perceived so I put a good amount of effort into it.

I guess that title may mean "I'm actually good at," but I don't think it does.

Really though, I'm good at anything I try to be good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I recently ended up with a pretty awesome scar on my cheek.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love storytelling. That is any form of storytelling whether its a book, comic/manga, tv show, anime, movie, or even music.

A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, The Name of the Wind/Kingkiller Chronicle (Patrick Rothfuss), Starship Troopers (Robert A Heinlein), Flowers for Algernon (Daniel Keyes), Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Philip K Dick), Neuromancer (William Gibson), The Forever War (Joe Haldeman), Ready Player One (Earnest Cline)

Good Will Hunting, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Matrix, Terminator, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Garden State, Watchmen, Dr. Horrble's Sing-Along Blog, The Fountain, Chris Nolan's Batman Series, A Clockwork Orange, Shaun of the Dead, She's All That (I love how ridiculous this movie is), Jacob's Ladder, Anchorman anything Miyazaki/Ghibli

TV Shows:
Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The League, Blue Mountain State, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, The Twilight Zone, Louie, Dexter, Wilfred, Community, Entourage, Scrubs, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld

I love all forms of Rock music, some random bands I like:
AFI, Alkaline Trio, Arcade Fire, Okkervil River, My Bloody Valentine, Blink 182, Sum 41, Jane's Addiction, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers, The Misfits, Neutral Milk Hotel, The La's, Oasis, Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, Sufjan Stevens, Weezer, Sunny Day Real Estate, Metric, Everclear, The Shins, Franz Ferdinand, Bon Iver, The Depreciation Guild, Built to Spill

I've been listening to a ton of post-rock the past few years, rock that is heavily instrumental where vocals are treated more like another instrument than the focus of the music. It's kind of out there, but I love it. Some of my favorite post-rock bands:
Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emporer, Explosions in the Sky, Yndi Halda, God is an Astronaut, Slint, World's End Girlfriend, Mono

Most of my absolute favorite music though is music that tells a story or has some sort of theme or flow between tracks, CDs that are better when listened to in order and all at once. Some of my top favorites:
Weezer - Pinkerton
Jimmy Eat World - Clarity
Slint - Spiderland
Godspeed You! Black Emporer - F#A# Infinity
Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place
Radiohead - The Bends

I suppose I've been going on about music for far too long. Sorry, I love it.

I don't play a huge amount of different videogames. I play a few but play the shit out of them. I don't see as much point in breezing through an entire game in 8 hours as I do in beating Dark Souls on New Game+. Some of my favorites:
The Thief Series, Metal Gear Solid, Mass Effect, Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, Final Fantasy up to X, Lost Odyssey, Chrono Trigger, Undying, System Shock 2 (Not Bioshock!), Silent Hill 2, Grim Fandango, The Legend of Zelda Series, DotA, Minesweeper, Pokemon, Castlevania (especially Symphony of the Night), Persona 3/4, To the Moon, FTL.

Other things:
My favorite story of all time in any format is the manga Berserk.

I love Mexican and Chinese food. I love trying new food though, I'll eat anything aside from mushrooms and seafood. Those are my weaknesses. Those and gamma radiation.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This is tough for me. If I lose something I generally try life without it rather than replace it right away so this will be more abstract.

Good Company
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'd like to write at least two books someday. I've been writing these two stories in my head for years. One started in middle school and the other a couple of years ago. They're constantly influenced by other stories though so they change a lot. When I go to bed a night I fall asleep thinking about them 95% of the time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I enjoy heading to the local craft beer bar with good friends to talk, tell stories and be silly. I might just be at home relaxing and playing games too.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Don't tell anyone, but I read The Fault in Our Stars.
