32 year old soldier/outdoors wanderer. I guess growing up as a farmer/woodsman, I'm semi-controlled by the seasons. I've been on three tours of duty with the Oregon Guard and have been with the infantry for nearly thirteen years. Getting that out there now so there's no "suprises" later.
What I’m doing with my life
Continuing my military career and trying to learn something new everyday. I've decided to pursue a masters in history, as I am quite the history nerd. Staying open to new ideas and taking it easy as often as I'm allowed.
I’m really good at
Listening. I like to hear other peoples stories and adventures. Especially if it helps me learn something new or provides insight on a problem. There's a ton of other stuff too, just ask.
The first things people usually notice about me
My huge German forehead... Fivehead... I also greet people by
looking them in the eye.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books, where would we be without them? I'm into Stephen King, John H. Poole, James Wesley Rawles, Max Brooks, Homer, Miyamoto Musashi, J.R.R. Tolkien and Edgar Allan Poe, to name a few.
Movies... Anything Predator/Aliens, The Professional, Man on Fire, Push, Zatoichi, The Riddick series. This list could go on and on.
Music, its all good so long as its not the cookie cutter crud I hear on the radio. Aesop Rock to ZZ Top. You name it.
Food? I like food. Enough said. I'm a big fat skinny kid. I love to cook as well as try new food.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If you find a genie and wish that it wouldn't grant this wish, would it explode? to quote George Carlin, " This is what I think about when the power goes out."
Also the safety and happiness of my Pack.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out in the woods, out on the town, or sitting around the house
trying to plan the other two.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That's another story or two.
You should message me if
If you think you'd get along well with an aging rifleman.
