My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by... So far I'm checking out this app and "site" and it seems interesting. I'm what you'd call a "serial entrepreneur", which means I tend to work a lot and enjoy what I do. And while I'm not particularly looking for anything serious right now, at some point I would like to find a companion to enjoy and share life with. I'm here to meet people and make new friends; it would be nice to find someone to connect with. I read a lot... Usually science fiction to relax and self development, economics, history, business etc to learn and grow. I'm a huge fan of swing dancing, but not so much right now as I injured my knee in February skiing and I'm still recovering (really what can you do? :-P ) Hope you're having a great day! :-)

UPDATE: Knee brace is off and dancing has occurred! Not as good as it was before it was what it is now. ;-)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm building a few new businesses with various people... We each work in our areas of strength, which means I do computer stuff, contracts, high level business strategic planning and structuring (that's a mouthful eh? Shorter to say "I draw pictures of stuff" but the former sounds more impressive...)

I love to learn and travel, and I like to do both regularly. I read daily and never (well almost) a newspaper. TED talks rock. Tea over coffee, but I like both.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Thinking outside the box.

Breathing.

Dancing.

Being me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm human?! I don't know. Ask THEM! I'm on the inside looking out... ;-) as my great grandpa would've said "It's the folks out front get the jar!" lol
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Any show that makes me think and has a decent story/plot. Sci Fi is a long standing favorite so BSG, Firefly, SG1, any show with the work "Trek" in it will usually get my attention... Books by Jack McDevitt, Ben Bova, Robert Jordan, and my all time favorite Neal Stevenson (if you HAVEN'T read him, WHY NOT!?!)

Jazz, classic rock, Top 40 ('cause it's usually catchy), classical.

Sushi.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order (and why stop at 6?!)
-A good Internet connection
-Sushi
-Family
-A worthwhile project into which to sink my teeth & time.
-Good books (one at a time is never enough!)
-Friends
-Swing Dancing
-Good red wine (Shiraz or Malbec?)
-Gluten-free food (I think better sans-gluten)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Weird things and ideas that strike me as interesting... Thought experiments if you will. Thinking through "What would happen if..." questions/scenarios and building an answer from first principles.

Yup, I know I'm weird, and why not? It's fun. ;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
When I'm in Vancouver and not broken-with-a-bad-knee:: Swing dancing at Royal City Swing. ;-)

Or Working, Reading, watching a movie, or hanging out at a friends place.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm usually not afraid/reluctant to talk about my failures and (many!) screw ups.

I sort of revel in my mistakes... Strange but true.

Don't get me wrong, it sucks to make "yet another one" but really, if you can't laugh and learn, what's the point?!
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're human, have a brain (and use it), know the difference between your and you're, and then and than. And you'd like to chat or meet.

DON'T message me if:
-You have zero or low Ambition for your life (it's YOUR life, DO something with it! Find a passion or cause or something!)
-You do drugs (yes, 420 is a drug), sorry, just not interested in that scene
-You'd never go dancing.
