Perhaps indelible is an overstatement, but it has yet to be proven
otherwise, thankfully. I am an
artist at heart and usually in practice.
I aspire to work full-time as an
illustrator/
cartoonist at some future date. I
believe everyone leaves their mark on
history in some way, however large or
small. I feel that art benefits from diverse musical accompaniment,
and so my tastes are varied. I value my family and friends above
all else. I'm a fan of the internal combustion engine, and I enjoy
driving and
riding everywhere
and anywhere. I love to
explore and experience places people
seldom see. I should probably read more and talk less. I believe
bacon to be a food
group and I enjoy dark beers in Irish pubs. And for some reason, I
think the number
11
holds some significance I have yet to discover.
Lately, I've been working on finishing my degree and looking for
freelance
opportunities. I'm also in the midst of converting a car to
electric drive, because I'm both tired of paying for gas and want
to be environmentally responsible. When I can, I'm adventure
touring around the state on my
motorcycle. Any excuse to get out of
the heat! I'm still trying to learn
Japanese, for all the good it will do
me here.
Solving problems and
drawing conclusions (or anything else
you need drawn). I take a good photo when I'm not in it. I also
have the uncanny ability to drive quickly without causing passenger
distress... usually. And
foosball, I think.
My nose probably; no doubt a product of my German and English
heritage.
I'm a fan of most writings by
Mark Twain. I appreciate razor-sharp
wit and observational humor. I also like Life of Pi, The Miracle
Life of Edgar Mint, Going Postal, Stranger in a Strange Land and
most anything about ancient
history or mythology.
In movies, I reserve a special place for
The Blues Brothers. It's a
family tradition of sorts. Most of the Coen brothers' flicks are
great, my favorite being The Big Lebowski. I also have a penchant
for animated works.
In music, I listen to most anything, and it's often mood-driven.
Some favorites are Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Nine
Inch Nails, The Shins, Nick Drake, My Bloody Valentine, Bob Marley,
Led Zeppelin, Garbage, Herbie Hancock, The Breeders, Elbow,
Radiohead, Spoon, Filter, A Perfect Circle, Mozart, Mussorgsky,
Joji Hirata, and the list goes on.
As for food, I'm an equal opportunity consumer. I love a good
burger with a beer just as much as a sukiyaki or sushi. I give
major credit to those who cook amazing dishes at home, and I visit
them often. And if you make your own chorizo, I'm your new best
friend.
Who I should thank for this crappy economy.
What's next.
The inexplicable
mysteries of the universe, like why
Glenn Beck is allowed on television.
I don't really have typical Friday nights. I could be heading out
of town, drinking with friends or playing couch anchor at home,
watching a flick. It's good to keep 'em guessing.
The internet tends to negate privacy, I must admit.
You are still reading by now, and you think we might get along. I'm
more looking to extend my network of friends and maybe find someone
I really mesh with along the way. One never knows, and that's
mostly why we're on here, right?
