My self-summary
Our story thus far: grew up in southern Virginia, college in northern Virginia, lived in the San Francisco bay area for two years, and now I'm here in Texas, living, laughing, and feeling out what Dallas has to offer.

I'm a good cook, I like to travel, I'm into board games and fantasy and anime and stand-up comedy, and I like taking long walks and talking about anything and everything.

A few words that describe me: independent, optimist, goofball, logical, intuitive, skeptic, open minded, empathetic, agnostic, liberal.
What I’m doing with my life
working in software quality assurance (yeah, that's what QA stands for), being awesome, thinking, learning, daring to eat a peach, ect.
Right now I like my job and career-wise I'm in a pretty good place. Other than needing to use this website, life is pretty good ;)

Every other year I'm trying to plan an international trip. Went to Japan last year and traveled across Europe a few years before that. I really dig foreign travel (except maybe those million times that I made wrong turns and got lost in foreign cities, haha).
I’m really good at
noticing details, cooking, writing, board games, creating automated tests (my jorb), eating babies, spotting plot twists, appreciating irony
The first things people usually notice about me
My height, my sense of humor, my radio announcer speaking voice
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Comedians: Maria Bamford, Patton Oswalt, George Carlin, Steven Wright, Kathleen Madigan, Lewis Black, Demetri Martin, Jim Gaffigan, Louis C.K., Brian Reagan, Hannibal Buress, Ricky Gervais, and many more.

Books, series, authors: Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Douglas Adams, Christopher Moore, Brandon Sanderson, Patricia Briggs, Tad Williams, Neal Stephenson, Robert Heinlein, Charlaine Harris, H.P. Don't really like sports (besides American Ninja Warrior, which I LOVE). I find most any sport involving a ball to be pretty boring and pointless; sorry, sports fans! :)

Food: Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Sushi, Mexican, Italian, and lots of various good foods. You know who you are, good foods.
I actually like to cook for myself fairly regularly; I make an excellent chicken curry (if I do say so myself) and (occasionally) some half decent banana bread.

Music: Regina Spektor, Florence + the Machine, M.I.A., Rodrigo y Gabriella, Fiona Apple, Amanda Palmer, the Dresden Dolls, Emma Pollock, St. Vincent, High and Mighty Color, the New Pornographers, the Sounds, Cobra Starship, the Black Belles, Disturbed, Powerman 5000, Bullet for My Valentine, ect.
The six things I could never do without
1) Internet
2) Coffee
3) Spicy food
4) Good book(s)/my e-reader
5) Ipod/comedy podcasts on Ipod
6) Phone/GPS on phone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
a blending of Humanist and Existentialist philosophies in which I define and choose my own happiness and express faith in the goodness of humanity by trying to express and act with that goodness in my own life.
Also sex; I think a lot about sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
going to the movies with friends, at a show, reading a good book, soaking in the hot tub/playing in the pool, or saving the world from aliens (again).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was a kid, during summer vacations I usually watched several soap operas, including Days of Our Lives and Passions. (there was nothing else to do...)
...in retrospect, I wish I had spent more time reading books. Wasted soooo much of my childhood watching crap tv. :)
