My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a warm, passionate & unconventional Chicago native who was friends with the punks, the nerds & the popular kids – same is true today.

I’m a political & news junkie, floor hockey & volleyball player. I love the adrenaline rush from both the sport of politics (part of my job) & playing (not watching) sports.

I also go to a meditation / Buddhism class to decompress and see a lot of shows at the 9:30 Club.

I travel yearly on my own, but make friends for life on every trip.

Aiming to find the right person to settle down with - but only if things develop naturally over time of course! I appreciate an open communicator, comfortable sharing feelings since it's key to a happy, healthy relationship.

The only way to know if there's a connection & chemistry is by meeting face-to-face, not emailing endlessly like avatars.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Moved here 15 years ago for a career in progressive politics - currently trying to improve life for low-wage workers (meaningful and exciting). I've been lucky at maintaining a good balance between work and play.

Hiking through new continents, trying new adventures: paragliding, zip lining upside down, skiing, hot air ballooning, snorkeling w/sharks and trapeze.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Speaking candidly, making people laugh and eliciting personal information and secrets.

Most of my friends and colleagues would say there's never a dull moment I'm around.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes, my voice, that I'm disarming and that I look a decade younger.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sirius satellite radio (music, comedy, news), candy, caffeine, physical / outdoor activity, good friends, the newspaper and dancing (perfectly comfortable being the only one on the dance floor, stone cold sober).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
All of the experiences that shaped who I am today, social justice, current events and politics until I reach a boiling point.

The duality of living between worlds - being a grown-up with my longtime/close friends who are married with kids while playing sports, seeing shows, etc. with my much younger and active friends.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Trying to keep in touch with an eclectic collection of good friends. Other Friday nights I'm a guest on a radio talk show - talking politics with a former boss, or out watching friends do stand-up comedy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I know less about my own religion than people of other faiths (I'm Jewish by birth but agnostic in practice).

You're looking for something more serious than playing the field. You'd like to meet in person, not write back-and forth like avatars.

You'd like to say something beyond "hi," "how are you," or "how's your weekend?"
