My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First and foremost, I am me. My screen-name/handle comes from RacerX, modified appropriately for Half-Life/Counter-Strike. I've been using it for close to ten years and I'm not changing it now, even if you think it is stupid.

I'm a beer snob, tobacco snob and coffee snob. I'd really like to be a tea snob, but I've never managed to find a decent selection of teas available. (I mean black? Huh? What KIND of black tea is it?) I suppose this means I enjoy the "finer things". (I'm currently debating whether that preceding period should go inside or outside the quotation marks. As I recall it should be outside due to the quotation, in itself, not being a statement, but having never actually taken a proper grammar class I'm not 100% sure on this. Oh, bother.) Give me a fancy . . . OK anything.

Whiskey scotch whiskey
I need my scotch whiskey
And I’ll drink my scotch whiskey
Until the day I die
Whiskey scotch whiskey
And I love my scotch whiskey
And I’ll drink my scotch whiskey
Until the day I die

And if the sea were whiskey
And if I were a duck
I’d swim to the bottom
And never come up
- The Real McKenzies

OK, but seriously I don't drink that much just a pint or a dram a day, if I'm lucky. And a couple beers when i hit the bar once or twice a month. I love booze, though I drink what i like and not to get drunk.

Was that last bit important?

The answer is 42.

I am Flowing, AttemptingPerfection, and Meh!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Now that I'm uninhibited by a job I'm looking into going back to college for mechanical or material engineering. The problem is surviving on unemployment until next fall. I suppose i will have to find something part-time even when i do go back so i suppose i should get out and look. Right bbl.

Maybe I'll finish this first.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Seriously? Most anything I put my mind too. Except drawing people. At the very least, whatever it is, I'll do the best that I can. Moreover I will continually strive to improve upon my past performance. It's what i get out of things. Satisfaction from a job well done. (or should it be "done well" Double bother)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The beard. Nicknames I've had or have: Gimli, Dwarf, gnome, Kevin Smith, Hamish (the guy from Braveheart).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Hmmm . . . where to start. Tolkien come to mind, let's go with authors then.

Books: Tolkien, Neil Stephenson, Naoki Urasawa, C.J.Cheryl, Tad Williams, Chaucer, Lao Tzu, Sun Tzu. Hell there's a lot more, but that's a decent distribution of my interests I think

Movies, I like fun movies, and good movies. What's the difference? Speed Racer was the single most entertaining movie last year, entertaining! It was not, however, a good movie in the classic sense. Plot, character development, immersion whatever. Car-Fu and pretty colours are fun! (yes I read too many British authors growing up so it's coloUrs but my spelling still isn't totally British) Oh yeah I was into Anime, still kinda am, but everything feels the same anymore.

Music, in semi-chronological order:
Classical (technically Romantic, and Baroque i believe but my musical history knowledge is rather wanting) I'm also going to throw Wagner, Gershwin and orchestrated soundtracks (say Braveheart, or Final Fantasy) in here as well.
Blues starting with Robert Johnson and the way up to "The Real Folk..." kind.
Jazz (not smooth), also big band, swing, bebop w/e
Classic Rock; not "oldies", more 60s-70s, Pink Floyd tops this list. We will also toss in Jonny Cash here as I'm not big on country but some of the older "folksy" stuff is pretty sweet. Also very much not Hair Bands.
Punk and ska, my heart of hearts, at least in the morning when I'm generally...non-happy it's what I'm listening to now.
90s alt (hey this is when i grew up and i was grunge before grunge existed, oh I've cleaned up a bit since then but I'll still sit around in a ratty old t-shirt on a Saturday morning, might even where it if i need to quick run out to the gas station or such, and yes this is a run-on sentence)
Some, very selective rap: OK now i don't want to be misleading with this one, and half of this stuff isn't considered rap by the young-uns but here's some specifics: The Beastie Boys, Snoop Dog (who is an awesome person that makes me laugh; lol Huggy Bear, actually i don't much care for his music/poetry) Doh! mind blank the cowboy kid . . . Kid Rock yeah his old stuff was rap, it was also rock w/e i don't care. I think I like a total of 2 Eminem songs as well, though given I haven't listened to either in almost two years . . .
Techno or trance I'm not really sure about the sub categories but I'm talking about the "gotta at least nod your head" kind John Digweed is . . . (a)God?
One more, cause this guy defies categorization: Susumu Hirasawa. Go look it up. It's weird. I like it!

Food: Cheesecake, Sushi, Crab Legs, anything I acquire through my own means. Other tasty stuff
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Cigarettes: I seriously wish i could, but I be addicted XD

Scotch! I can survive a while on good micro brews or a bit of Canadian, maybe a stout, or a good martini, but in the end the scotch makes my day.

Music: this should probably go further down the list, but whatever it's here now. I've gone about a week without it but i was camping. Under normal circumstances, i can't go 24 hours without music.

Fresh Air: I can not stand stale recirculated air. Especially heated dry air. I leave my window cracked during the winter even on days when it's -30 outside. Yes I'm talking about my room, not just my car.

Internal Combustion Engines: I really feel bad about this one. I mean I love the environment, outdoors, and all. But something about the feel of power you get from a supercharged 3.8L V6 makes me very happy. Even the little port tuned 4-banger can get me going. Although, the whine of high revs doesn't please me like the rumble of a good ol' fashioned 351 V8. I want an RX-8, pictures of rotary engines make me shiver.

There is something that goes here I had it in mind before I tangented off getting exited about cars . . . oh yeah Internet! It's my source on information I seriously couldn't live without it.

Weird: I can not live without weird.

On the other hand i seriously could live without most of these things. I have occasionally considered finding some out of the way place, a Shinto shrine, Buddhist monastery, or even just a hut in the woods, and becoming a hermit. I think i could do it. I really think i could enjoy the simple life that it would provide.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Monkeys, ok not really but somehow my brain keeps going back to monkeys. I don't know if it's Son Goku (Journey to the West), poo flinging funny or what but somehow Monkey, or monkeys comes into my vocabulary on a daily basis. Sometimes it's a curse, or an exclamation of surprise, or even amusement. Sometimes i just say "Monkey!" to get people to stop arguing. I don't know? Am I weird? You think?

Mostly i think about fun stuff. You know, like the meaning of life, or contemplating infinity (OK really just exponential growth, or at least that's as near as I've gotten), or what strategy I'm going to use in the next game of civilization i play. At least that's the kinda thing my mind wanders too when I'm doing boring repetitive jobs that i have mastered. Of course if i haven't mastered it yet I'm trying to figure out a way to do it better then i have been.
On a typical Friday night I am

This one time, I accidentally put my hand in a Franklin vertical hot press: 315 degrees, 60psi for about 1.5 seconds. After it released I walked over to my boss and said "I have a slight problem." When i got to the doctor's office the nurse thought it was weird that I was laughing. We had our yearly safety meeting the day before. It was hilarious. It was also insanely painful. The bones Knitted well and the skin regrew there is a bit of scarring but you'd never notice at a glance. I might be invincible, not gonna test that one though.

Hmmm . . . actually i pretty much tell that story to everyone, but hey saves me some trouble later on. I'm fairly open about myself so i can't think of anything i wouldn't say here.
