This is me. I'm 25, academic, funny, queer, kinky, intellectual, motivated (usually), temporally organised (spatially... a little less so), cubbish, social... all that good stuff.

I tend to laugh at most things. I find life to be immensely funny. And I don't just mean the good things. The bad stuff is funny, too. Actually, I usually find the bad stuff funnier than the good stuff, simply because most of the bad stuff that happens is so ironic, like getting impatient waiting for a bus so you go for a brief walk and end up missing the bus so you have to wait for a new one, or not giving up oil because doing so would be bad for the economy, and then peak oil hits so the economy gets screwed. It's just hilarious.

I tend to be a very driven person. I like accomplishing goals and I like feeling as though my goals have contributed something. But I also have a lot of hobbies: I enjoy video games, computers, board games , martial arts (right now I'm learning to use tonfa), pen and paper roleplaying games, and sports (though I hate watching them--I just like playing them). Of course, reading and writing are also big hobbies of mine, but, because I'm smart that way, it's also my source of income.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm an English Literature/Philosophy graduate student (master's) at the University of Ottawa. I focus on my studies a bit too much, probably, but I get so much pleasure out of what I do that I don't care. I'm currently planning on going for my Ph.D., so I'm pretty serious about it. I get so excited about exploring new ideas and questioning my beliefs that most of my friends just roll their eyes.

I enjoy it, and I feel I can make a worthy contribution to the world this way. That last part is very important to me�I want to make the world a better place because I'm in it.

D) Vegan baking. I usually make my own favourite foods, like pumpkin-banana muffins, or vegan fajitas. I don't eat out much.
