My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there, my name is Andrew and I am a level 12 half-elf wizard specializing in alchemy and abjuration... oops wrong setting.

I am a Research Chemist specializing in stirring things until they turn various colors then subjecting them to completely toxic gases so that hopefully those toxic gases don't hurt you later. I am highly intelligent and a giant nerd who enjoys a good book, tabletop games, and craft beer. Loyalty and honesty are really important to me and I have been known to come across as rather blunt at times because of it.

Like just about everyone on here I am looking for friendship and companionship. With most people I am a rather quiet person who tends only to butt in when I've got something to say, though my friends have a hard time getting me to shut up when I'm on a roll. I am decisive, hard working, down to earth, and goofy as hell. I love to smile, which is good because after now looking at my pictures I apparently have a giant mouth for grinning with.

Truth be told, it's hard as hell to accurately describe one-self on these things. Bottom line is if you like my pictures, have some similar interests, and want to talk to someone honest and open then I'm your guy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I finally finished my Ph.D. in December last year and so I'm living the high life! That is to say I work 9-5 for non-slave wages.

When i'm not chained to my lab bench, I spend my time picking up new hobbies, browsing reddit, reading a new book, or enjoying the company of friends no matter what we are up to. I recently started archery!

I have become an active member of the society for creative anachronism which involves medieval crafts, archery, and general frivolity. It is a lot of fun and full of great people, and I encourage everyone to give it a try.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Stirring things together and pretending it's real chemistry on the off chance it works. A.K.A. my job. (Now including constructing various metal things and hoping they don't blow up!)

Learning new things.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'd like to think it's my smile. I've got a pretty big mouth so it's hard to miss.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I enjoy any book that has something to say or has a very unusual world. A good book series can drive me to devour words. I just got done finishing a 4 book series in about 2 weeks. Some of my favorites -- The Stormlight Archive, The Mistborn Trilogy, Ender's Game], The Foundation Trilogy, The Belgariad, Comic Books (particularly X-Men), The Kingkiller Chronicles, nearly anything by Isaac Asimov, American Gods.

Movies: My tastes are really varied in this category. A small list would be -- Paranormal Activity, How to Train Your Dragon, Star Wars, Gladiator, Lion King, Aladdin, Cabin in the Woods, The Dark Knight trilogy, Avengers (and related marvel movies). And pretty much anything with a sci-fi/fantasy twist to it.

TV: Doctor Who, Top Gear, Stargate, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Daily Show, Warehouse 13, Food Network Challenge, Once Upon a Time, Documentaries, I don't actually have cable so anything I can find on netflix works.

Music: Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Avicci, Third Eye Blind, 3 Doors Down, Rise Against, Joe Satriani, Jason Mraz, Sick Puppies, Framing Hanley, Michael Buble... i'm bad with band names so I'm sure i'll be adding more later.

Food: ALL THE FOODS. Except pickles... pickles need to be exterminated. I particularly enjoy chinese and thai food.
