I am quirky, giddy, and impulsive.
My Self-Summary
My name is Jennifer. It can be Jenn, Gwen, Dave, Gin...but never
Jenny. I am Wiccan, pretty intelligent, and have been told I'm
pretty fun to be around. You'll never have to worry about honesty
with me, I've learned that the only way to go is tell it like it
is, even if that means what you have to say won't be so
well-received. I like
NKOTB. I smoke (though I would like to
quit sometime before my 31st b-day).
*UPDATE* I have not had a single cigarette in '09. It's been nearly
three weeks, and I feel that I can ALMOST breathe easier (teehee) I
think I've done it, folks! :D
Okay, admittedly I fell off the wagon a time or two, but it's been
a couple of weeks again, and I have a bit more motivation to
continue the healthy habits. I've joined a gym, and have been
working out four days a week for the last month. I feel great (and
it's possible that I like a bit better, too!)
I can be moody and quiet, loud and obnoxious, or even sweet and
(seemingly)innocent. There's really not a whole lot I wouldn't try
at least once, I know a lot of folks say that, but I really MEAN
it! ;) I enjoy
bowling,
board games,
video games,
card games,
football,
pool,
darts,
camping,
hiking...and lots of other things!
What I’m doing with my life
*update* I have a new love! Recently, I've realized how much I miss
movies...I've been avoiding the telly for a while now, I guess
there just isn't much in the way of things fascinating for me to
make me want to turn it on. But I miss movies. I miss going to the
newest release in a series of movies that my friends and I don't
want to miss, I miss the days when I'd go to the theater with a
group of girlfriends and act totally obnoxious through the
previews, just to get sucked in completely by the opening scene.
I've found, due to a great tip from a new friend, a way to rekindle
some of that feeling, and get my movie fix right here on my laptop.
Thanks. I needed that! Off to watch another new flick, before work!
;) *end of update*
I used to be nine-to-five girl with a job on the weekends as a home
health aide. The nine-to-five job was working for a Non-Profit
agency, which I liked because it made me feel that I helped people,
even on a limited basis, more so than I could in the Corporate
world. I have a car, a place of my own, and a cat (*two cats, I've
just gotten a new kitten). I enjoy spending time with my friends
and their kids (since I don't have any of my own). I don't have
plans to go to school or travel extensively, although if I suddenly
come into loads of cash, either is possible! I am really enjoying
this freedom of having my own place, despite the downfall of being
solely responsible for the house, however; unfortunately sooner or
later I will have to have a roommate. Hopefully that goes well...I
am hardly ever home, so I anticipate that will be okay, but you
never know... **Update** I have a roommate. Make that two
roommates. One of which is a completely wonderful man,
bragio, who I'm pretty smitten
with right now :) Let's hope it stays that way ;)
I’m really good at
Most of the things I enjoy, I enjoy because I like to do them, not
necessarily because I'm GOOD at them. I like to write, and have
been told the things I write are pretty entertaining. You can
decide if I'm good at other things...I will leave that open for
your opinion. I have since been enlightened that I am a pretty good
story teller, depending on the subject...I am really good at
putting actions in to words...in a sense, and I am also a decent
listener (if what you have to say interests me, I won't lie...) It
has recently been brought to my attention that I'm really good at
taking an absolutely terrible situation and accentuating positives.
If I like ya well enough and you ask me, I might care to explain...
;)
The first things people usually notice about me
I have incredible eyes...I think, a pretty good smile, lots of
freckles, and pretty nice legs. I would guess that those are
physically what is noticed first. I also am pretty open about
myself, you can ask almost anything and I will answer...you just
might not like the answer! ;)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I read pretty much everything, watch any kind of movies, love all
kinds of music, and will try almost any new food. As far as
favorites, I like a book that makes you think a little, or at least
draws you in. In the interest of helping you out (and beefing this
up a bit) I'll list a few of my favorite authors:
Laurell
K. Hamilton
Rebecca
Brandewyne
Anne Rice
Clive
Barker
Iris
Johansen
Chuck
Palahniuk
A movie has to capture my heart with its story to be on my
favorites list, but that doesn't mean just sappy chick-flicks are
on that list. Again, to beef this up:
Ever After: A
Cinderella Story
X-Men
The
Goonies
Indiana
Jones (all 4)
Star Wars (all
6)
The Lord
of the Rings Trilogy
If the music has a good beat or good lyrics, you can bet I'll like
it, but my favorite group is (always has been, always will be)
New Kids
on the Block, and I am SO not ashamed of that.
I also like: (in NO particular order...and I'm sure there's stuff
I'm forgetting)
The Eagles,
Rhianna,
Rascal Flatts,
Pink,
Melissa
Etheridge,
No
Doubt/
Gwen
Stefani,
Dixie Chicks,
Ne-Yo,
SHEDaisy,
Savage Garden,
Dolly Parton,
Harry Connick, Jr.,
Cher,
Madonna (mostly the earlier
stuff)
I think my favorite food is
Italian, pasta especially, but I really
like
Mexican as
well...and I like to cook when I can, so whatever I can dream up,
really! :)
The six things I could never do without
I would be hard pressed to live without my cell, a good book,
internet access at least weekly, bottled or filtered water, writing
utensils (pen/pencil and paper), and chapstick. :)
*In reading this for the millionth time (okay, it's only been like
seventeen, but I have a flair for the dramatic sometimes...) I
realized that I didn't necessarily need writing utensils or weekly
internet access...unless they were related (ie: laptop or desktop
instead along with the internet access, or just the pen and paper)
While I do appreciate the way a pen feels on paper some days, if
pressed, I suppose I could survive with a keyboard instead...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The things I think about most often are either very near and dear
and personal, or very trivial...my mind tends to wander lots, so
there really isn't something that's there constantly!
*In amendment I spend a lot of time lately thinking about what
exactly I hope to accomplish here. I thought I had it all under
control, but it seems to me that my idea of what I wanted doesn't
fit in with what I really wanted. Also how confusing my mind is and
the way it works, even to me. Lord and Lady help anyone else who's
trying to figure me out, it's practically impossible! ;)
**Sharing my current love interest with the right girl :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Every other Friday I bowl on a league on a team that I've been on
for over ten years. Bowling with the same people for thirty-plus
weeks over the fall and winter months is an experience, to say the
least! Other Fridays, well, those are mine to spend more time with
people I meet here, hopefully! :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm Wiccan...not that that's private, but a girl has to retain her
mystery, right? Ask and I will answer almost anything, but if I
tell you everything up front, where's the fun in that? I also
cannot abide any creature that doesn't either have a face, feet, or
both. Make your own deductions as to what kind of pet I'd never
have from those criteria. :)
You should message me if
You won't spend valuable time patronizing me.
You are someone who understands the importance of the little
things.
You find me attractive and you're not afraid to tell me AND show
me.
You are pretty socially tolerant.
You can maintain intelligent conversation (and sometimes not so
intelligent conversation.)
You are open to the idea of my bisexuality, but don't see it as
simply a bonus to our relationship.
You have a job, a car, and you're not living with someone due to
your own irresponsible nature.
You understand that we WON'T be having sex when we first meet, and
you won't pressure me to do so.
You understand what it means to be passionate about
something.
You've picked up a book in the last week for pleasure. And you do
so on a regular basis without being coerced.
You have informed opinions on a wide range of things.
You are open to the idea of my religious beliefs and
practices.
You can accept and tolerate my friends. I love them, they are my
life and I will NOT change that.
You are ready to move on into a new relationship. If this is
strictly a for friends kind of thing, great. But let me know up
front that you're still hung up on your ex. Be honest with yourself
about that, please!
You understand that not everything is about you.
You're still awake after reading everything about me. I can be very
chatty...and am when trying to catch someone's attention...have I
done that?
