Sharing things in common is cool and all, but it's not that big of
a deal if we like different books or music. But I suppose there is
some insight to be gained while I come off like a poncy jerk
writing about how cool I am because I like a certain band.
I enjoy books about LA, crime novels, and history books. My
favorite books are probably City of Quartz by Mike Davis, Devil in
a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley, and Get in the Van by Henry Rollins
(loved it since high school, though many of the passages seem silly
years on . . . thankfully).
For movies, I like westerns, old action flicks, noir films, and
absurd comedies. Some favorite movies are Bullitt, Double
Indemnity, Assassination of Jesse James, Unforgiven, and
For shows, I watch Charlie Rose, Bill Moyers, and C-Span interviews
online. I sometimes watch TV shows on Netflix, meaning I'm usually
a year or two behind. If I'm near a TV and Seinfeld or Curb Your
Enthusiasm is on, I am watching.
I enjoy drone-y stuff and heavy types of music. I will forever love
late Black Flag and the Jesus Lizard.
Favorite food items: black coffee, fresh basil, and IPA. After
spending few months in New Orleans, I am done eating fried fish and
gumbo (at least for now).
