I'll say it out loud, push it way out there, that there are definitely times when going crazy looks attractive. And we’re not talking about charmingly eccentric here. (Already got that covered.) No – we’re talking about permanent emigration to the Land of Lunacy, that special psychological postal code where The Ancient Laws of Behave Yourself no longer apply.
My reasoning is simple.
Takes a great deal of effort to sustain a conservative trustworthy persona. Surrendering the effort would involve, from a Freudian perspective, a conscious dismantling of the superego – that part of the psyche entrusted with enforcing parental and socially approved actions. The constant energy required to pass as normal would suddenly become available for doing and saying whatever pleases me in the moment. Imagine it: the id and libido completely unbound by any and all moral or cultural restrictions.
Hmm… Probably won’t need the shrink anymore, might need a lawyer. Time for a cuppa plus [insert biscuit of your choice] to ponder further.
I am a somewhat curious individual with a full set of hair and teeth. Usually a little unshaven (better described as “rugged”) but if meeting someone unless I hear otherwise - and some women like the 5 am look I'm told - I’ll be smooth of chin and upper lip. (How many days before rugged becomes unkempt?)
Tall, cursed or blessed with intelligence (yet to decide), open to the unusual and knows which end of a teabag to use. Good listener, opens doors, likes holding hands in public, loyal, compassionate, passionate and pretty comfortable with who I am although always room for improvement.
Gregarious at times, quieter at others, occasionally a little shy and sometimes I like my own space. Don’t we all? Socially minded: if I see a "Have you seen this person?" poster I always ring and let them know that I didn't.
What am I looking for? Attracted to intelligence, profiles of substance and a nice bum.
Come say hello; sometimes nice to be contacted as opposed to always contacting; this site often feels a little one-sided.
Hmm, what else? Adores and adored by cats; sometimes distracted by shiny thi.... ooooh, what's that?
