My self-summary
Aspiring lotus-eater searching for a sympathetic imagination to keep his synapses from going to sleep.
What I’m doing with my life
Collecting stories.

Writing a poem a day: https://halfsohappy.wordpress.com/

My nine to five is more of a two in the afternoon till eleven. On the plus side it's only four days a week.
I’m really good at
Reduction.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a very conspicuous wallflower.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Murakami writes my favorite short fiction. "On seeing the 100% perfect girl one beautiful april morning" is particularly fitting for this medium and "Honey Pie" makes me misty eyed every time I read it.

Glen Duncan produces a sort of thoughtful pulp fiction that I can't seem to get enough of. The fact that two of his books have amazing soundtracks (I, Lucifer and The Last Werewolf) by one of my favorite musicians doesn't hurt his standing with me either. I'd be remiss to not mention Milan Kundera as well. Immortality was a book that changed the way I look at the world.

Jean Paul Jeunet's films epitomize for me what that tired old phrase 'movie magic' truly means. Some of my other favorites include Cashback, The Exploding Girl, Stranger than Fiction, Her, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Howl's Moving Castle, Shoot 'Em Up, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and the LotR trilogy.

The Venture Brothers is easily my favorite thing still on TV. I was a cartoon junkie growing up and a couple years back I got into anime. Some favorites in that medium include Acchi Kocchi, Black Lagoon, The Tatami Galaxy, Hyouka, Toradora, and Shirobako. My Anime List

Songs that are important to me:
Eyedea - Here For You
TZU - Reminisce
Jaymay - Gray or Blue
Koop - Beyond the Son
The Cardigans - 3:45 : No Sleep
The six things I could never do without
Uncertainty.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Most people I've met have pretty great smiles. Smiles filled with all sorts of pointless little secrets just waiting to be shared. Give me a pair of upturned edges and I'll get myself lost for a good long while.
On a typical Friday night I am
I have a group of guys that I've played online games with since middle school. Unless something more interesting presents itself I'm likely kicking it with them. League of Legends is our primary game of choice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a fiend for moments. I'll overlook otherwise flawed creations if they manage to wrestle an honest reaction out of me. However, if something bores me I retreat with a ruthless efficiency. This extends to people.
You should message me if
If you want to translate that which exists only for you into a shared language.
