Unlike many women who post here who seem to be going someplace extraordinarily interesting much of the time, I am usually content being at home with someone special in my life. She doesn't have to be with me all the time; but just knowing we are partners can make a day alone satisfying even if I have little to do.
I am generous and don't mind spending money to have a good time.
I don't have much patience with phonies.
My sense of humor is wry and spontaneous (I don't "tell jokes").
I am one of many Jewish atheists, Jewish by culture but not religion. I am turned off by organized religion, especially dogmatism. My partner must accept that I am convinced that with death comes an absolute end of all consciousness.
I can't see myself being with someone who isn't politically liberal. I am attracted to women who are smart and clever, who can engage in playful repartee.
I am very much taken by the wonders and mysteries life, nature and the cosmos; but that doesn't make me spiritual in the usual sense of the word. I am fascinated by discoveries in physics, biology and medicine. I'd rather say I'm a secular humanist than an atheist. I am more like Stephen Hawkings in my view of God and the cosmos.
I like taking day trips, working in the garden, eating out, watching a few well written and acted TV dramas, watching the MSNBC evening political shows, going to Boston, the Cape, the beach, taking longer road trips around New England, shopping, reading, discussing politics and just about any topic of mutual interest.
I am not interested in going on cruises or international travel. I'd willingly go overseas if my partner wanted to but it isn't a priority.
I am not a sports fan. I'm not a golfer. I am not passionate about cultural events.
I tend to be an introspective and when talking about my late wife or our life together I will get melancholy. I don't want talking about my 40 years of marriage to be a taboo topic.
When I feel like it can be extraverted. I am happy having just a few close friends.
I am polite and respectful of women.
Last, but not least, I believe is what is often called chemistry.
Read on before you send me a message as there's even more to tell.
