My self-summary
I love live music more than just about anything. To keep up, you must also be a really big music fan.

"Here's a theory for you to disregard completely. Music, you know, true music, not just rock 'n' roll, it chooses you. It lives in your car, or alone, listening to your headphones with the vast, scenic bridges and angelic choirs in your brain. It is a place apart from the vast, benign lap of America." - wish I could take credit for that quote, but you get bonus points if you know who "said" it.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in commercial television and I'm an amateur musician. I take regular music lessons and play in a (not serious) band. We gig out in my friend's basement.

I've done some really big projects in my professional career and now I'm looking to have a better work/life balance. Coming to Atlanta has made that possible. I am still able to have a great career without burning out working 70-80 hours a week. Also, I get to work in a fast-paced and multicultural environment which is pretty amazing!
I’m really good at
Jumping feet first into a big project.
Figuring out songs on the guitar.
Singing.
The first things people usually notice about me
that I'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some of the shows I've seen recently are: Bosnian Rainbows, Peter Murphy, Gary Clark Jr., Regina Spektor, Vintage Trouble, Flobots, Emilie Sande, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Fiona Apple, The Black Crowes, Rachel Yamagata, Nico Vega, Cat Edmondson, The Cult, Esperanza Spalding, Rival Sons, Steely Dan, The National, Robert Randolph & Chvrches.

The Shaky Knees festival was one of the best days of the year for me even though it poured cats and dogs the whole time.

I also really like to read. So, message me if you're a fellow book fan! I just finished all 5 GOT books and they were tons of fun. Currently reading some Murakami. Big fan of Michael Chabon, Mario Vargas Llosa, Jeffrey Eugenides, Margaret Atwood. I love modern fiction. I could spend an entire paycheck at Barnes & Noble. I love women authors - Marilynne Robinson, Atwood (as mentioned), Joan Didion, Eudora Welty, Zadie Smith, Penelope Lively, Arundati Roy, Geraldine Brooks among others. I love to read the books that win awards. Sometimes that's just the shortcut to knowing what is great that is out there, because finding time to read can be a challenge. I like to write reviews of books online as well. A close friend says I missed my calling as a book critic.

Some of my favorite movies are: The Fall, The Motorcycle Diaries, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Aviator, Swimming to Cambodia, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Coming to America, Every film by Miyazaki, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Good Will Hunting, Anchorman, Kung Fu Hustle, Almost Famous, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Rachel Getting Married, Napoleon Dynamite, This is Spinal Tap, Heaven Can Wait, Wonder Boys, Rushmore, Lost in Translation. And of course, The Room. How can you not love The Room?

Love me some Mexican food (not Tex-Mex but the real deal), Caribbean and South American food, Korean BBQ, Southern BBQ, Argentinian BBQ. I'm pretty adventurous. I'd wager I've eaten more freaky things than most people.
The six things I could never do without
a sense of humor about things
a purpose/goal
beautiful music - like Beethoven's 7th or Moonlight Mile by The Stones.
great friends and family
Everything else is a bonus!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm not a geek, but I do like Game of Thrones. Okay, maybe a closet geek.

Someday, I want to play my guitar at Eddie's Attic. I'm working on the songs right now. Funny though, I can't seem to write anything but country songs which is odd, because I don't listen to all that much country.

There was a production of "Our Town" in 1989 that featured Spalding Grey as the narrator. I'll bet it was amazing.

Why Jeff Buckley, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Elliot Smith were all taken from us too soon.

Why the NBA was so much better in the 80's and early 90's than it is now.

Why do great bands tend to suck as they become financially successful?

I can't get any work done since I've changed offices.

Picking up a camera again (video and still). That's something that I really enjoyed.

I need a new guitar (I really don't but I always think I do).
On a typical Friday night I am
"lying in bed, just like Brian Wilson did".

No seriously. Fridays are great to get out and have dinner with friends or see a show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a very hard time watching TV because it is like bringing my work home with me. So, I'm probably not going to sit and watch your shows with you for longer than about 30 minutes without getting restless. Just being upfront about it.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 35–45
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
there's a band you really want to see and have no one to go with you, or you really like to talk about books.
