My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Apparently, nearly every single woman in New York lives in Brooklyn, is a vegetarian, does Yoga and reads Murakami. I do none of those things. Well, I've dabbled in Murakami.

I'm a Southern guy who clearly doesn't belong in the South. I'm not conservative, religious or a big fan of college football or tailgating. However, I did bring my good manners, my hospitable nature and my laid-back approach with me when I came to New York. Maybe I don't belong in New York either, but that remains to be seen.

I like to think of myself as a generous, thoughtful, affable, & intelligent guy.

And, I have a really cool job, much cooler than you do.

I have remarkably good hair for a guy my age and I'm working really hard to get back in shape. I've lost 80lbs this year and I'm committed to losing another 40 before the end of the year.

I am back in New York after bouncing between here and Atlanta for the last few years.

I love cheese.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a Tech Manager at a TV network (the one with a bird for its logo).

I am a huge fan of live music.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a decent guitar player, a tolerably bad singer & I'm snappy with the one-liners.

I mentioned the hair, right? Actually, I'm pretty laid back so that's probably what people notice.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Musical tastes vary but I like the really great song-writers: Jeff Buckley, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Elliot Smith, Sufjan Stevens, Fiona Apple, Leonard Cohen, Brandy Clark. The roots rockers: John Hiatt, Robert Randolph, Jason Isbell, Holly Williams, Lindi Ortega. I like The Iridium Jazz Club in Times Square a lot. I like the whole Retro-Motown thing that seems to be happening like Ruby Velle, Mayer Hawthorne, Har Mar Superstar, Alabama Shakes (much more soul-rock than blues rock).

Authors I love include: Mario Vargas Llosa, Margaret Atwood, Jeffrey Eugenides, Marilynne Robinson, Michael Chabon, Zadie Smith, John Irving, Geraldine Brooks, Junot Diaz, Nicola Barker, Anthony Marra, Michael Ondaatje, V.S. Naipaul, Roberto Bolaño, among many others.

One of my favorite movies is The Fall by Tarsem. I also have a weakness for Almost Famous. Otherwise, I like smart movies and films that make you think. But I also like movies that can make me laugh.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
a sense of humor about things
a purpose/goal
beautiful music - like Beethoven's 7th or "Moonlight Mile" by The Stones.
My guitar

Everything else is a bonus!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I need a new guitar (I really don't but I always think I do).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I try to play gigs in small venues on Thursdays and Friday nights. I tend to work most weekends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I hated Ferris Bueller. I just wanted so badly for someone to punch that smug kid in the face.
