Books: High up on my list is anything having to do with food
(Omnivore's Dilemma, The Zen of Fish, American Terroir, and the
like); Joan Didion is a total badass--I'm tearing through her
earlier works now; a wide range of other non-fiction, including
travelogues, historical accounts, science, etc.; also a wide range
of fiction, but I mostly try to tackle literary fiction as opposed
to the genre type.
Magazines: You will not find me without at least three in my
backpack at any given time. I religiously read The New Yorker,
Harper's, NatGeo, The Believer, and Orion.
Movies: Willow (the first epic fantasy film I ever watched), Brave
Heart (action-packed yet with enough frivolous drama), The Endless
Summer (aren't we all searching for that endless high?) Plenty
plenty more...but, I must say, I have an affinity for cheesy 80's
films and horror (all the more better for cuddling.)
Music: Geez. I run the gamut, really. Love Folk and Blues (Bonnie
Raitt, Martin Sexton, Amos Lee); 80's pop (Yep, Atlantic Starr and
The Jets are awesome); there's seriously something from every genre
I admire. Three Doors Down, Kings of Leon, Cold Play, Frank
Sinatra, IZ, Bob Marley, the list goes on...
Food: Hawaiian first...but I have eclectic tastes. Love
Vietnamese/French fusion, Japanese, and California cuisine to name
