I have just recently been transferred from NYC to CT for work. The
good news is that I was promoted, the sad news is that I am no
longer in NYC (but I still have my apartment there). I had a great
thing going there, as many of my friends from Chicago and Boston
were in NYC, but now I am in CT and looking to meet new
people.
I work to travel, I love exotic locales, and my idea of a great
vacation involves part relaxation and part exploration. I want to
move back to Europe at some point. I plan on getting a Tuscan Villa
once I get my career on track.
I love food of all sorts, and am blessed with a great metabolism.
Because my eating habits are definitely similar to those of a fat
kid, but I also go to the gym often. It is pretty much the only
place I know how to get to (other than work) in good ole CT.
Hopefully someone on here will be able to show me around. I would
love to get to know some new people, for friendship and possibly
more.
I manage the sales department of a medium sized business. I have
learned a lot about sales and retail, and I hope to start my own
business within the next five years. I have some more things to
learn, but if you aren't growing professionally it would probably
get pretty boring.
For fun I am figuring out how to get to
South Africa for the
world cup. And then take
over
Anthony
Bourdain's show "No Reservation" Seriously, all he does is
drink and eat with people from all over the world. Is there a much
better job?
Quoting movies. Changing people's minds. Making bad situations
fun/funny. Learning new things. philosophical theory. cannon
balls.
I'm also good at those cliche, but important things, you know...
listening, conversation. I'm acceptable to introduce to your
friends and family. I'm also fairly nerdy *pushes glasses up*,
introspective and nice... I have had a lot of edumacation (go
U.Chicago and Obama!)
That I'm laughing.
I'm fit.
I am a snazzy dresser.
a) Well, come on I like the classics...
Goodnight Moon, Lord of the
Rings,
The
Hobbit,
Dune,
100
Years of Solitude, Dr. Seuss Books (all of them), The Odyssey,
The Iliad, Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, anything
Magical Realism. So many more... I just finished Ender's Game and I
picked up Dante's "Inferno" yeah U.Chicago...
b) Princess Mononoke, GHOSTBUSTERS, The Godfather, Anchorman, Kung
Pow, Shrek, The Baxter, March of the Penguins, Star Wars (original
trilogy), Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings Trilogy,
Wedding
Crashers! and so soooo many more. The best movie ever is
The
Shawshank Redemption. If you haven't seen it and we become
friends I will make you watch it. I also really like Dan in Real
Life and Definitely Maybe.
I really love cartoons, their laws of physics are preferable to
ours.
c) On a whole I listen to Billy Joel, Huey Lewis and the News, Phil
Collins(yeah American Pyscho!), Cake, Beatles, Red Hot Chili
Peppers, Tracy Chapman, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Five For
Fighting, Foo Fighters (how can I just be discovering them?)...
want more just ask. Oh yeah, and the Decemberists. My goal is to go
to a Dave Matthews Concert this year. I don't often go to concerts,
but I really like DMB. So sue me, everyone has guilty pleasures
right?
d) I LOVE FOOD!! Because it is delectable. I mean think about what
people can do with food. I love to bake, but most importantly I
like going to good Japanese food (Sushi is luscious), Italian
(Cacio e Pepe on the Lower East Side), and...
Pizza (especially New York Style, that's the good stuff). I do have
a place in my heart for
Giordano's though (4 years in
Chicago will do that to a man).
I enjoy good cheese (cheesecake too) and fresh fruit. I also like
Steak Houses, and am always up for something new. A little
Korean-BBQ anyone? And of course wine....mmmmmmm
Travel, family, warm drinks, a good night's sleep, adventure,
learning something new.
Food.
Travelling (yes I randomly buy tickets to places and then ask for
the days off, just because sometimes you need to be
whimsical)

There is no typical anymore.
you enjoy having fun, eating great food, and if you want clever
conversation.
You should be able to make me laugh. I like it when my stomach
hurts because I laughed too hard. Everyone loves that, don't they?
