My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm Sarah. Thanks for stopping by! Please forgive me for being pretty MIA right now; things are kind of crazy with figuring out my move to C-ville, house hunting while still living in DC and so on.

I'm currently living in Washington DC, but I'm house-hunting in the Charlottesville area and planning to move there this coming summer. I've been going down to C'ville constantly, so I feel like I'm there almost as much as I am here in DC!

I'm looking for a long-term relationship, to fall in love with a great guy who is also looking for a long-term relationship. I, of course, don't expect that every guy I go on a few dates with will turn into a serious relationship, but there should at least be the potential.

I'm a fun, caring person with a positive outlook on life. In my core, I'm a care-taker; I tend to do lots for other people and have a hard time being the person they do things for. I'm actually learning to be more selfish. :) Don't worry, I'll still drive you to the airport at 5am, but I'll expect lots of back rubs in return. I think that the purpose of life is to be happy, so I make happiness a priority and try not to dwell on the negatives. When I do get upset about something, I tend to vent really passionately to someone (in this scenario, that would be you) for about 2 to 5 minutes, and then I'm done. You can just be empathetic and say, "Yes, that sucks..." until I am finished. Then, I am usually over it.

I'm an introverted extrovert, a sucker for kids and animals, and a novice photographer with aspirations of greatness. I hate blue cheese, black licorice, and olives. I'm outgoing and friendly, and I speak my mind; I'm also sensitive, which is something people don't expect me to be. I give killer back rubs and love getting them too. I'm a cuddler. I am kind of disorganized, so you might have to help me search for my car keys or my coffee cup from time to time. Ok, every day…

I'm very focused on enjoying life and being happy; I had forgotten about that for awhile and had gotten too wrapped up in work. That's why I quit my job as a teacher and administrator (I was doing double duty, which = no life and lots of stress.) almost 3 years ago and have been a private tutor ever since. It's amazing how much more I'm enjoying life! I've become a road trip addict, since I have a more flexible schedule. In March, I drove to Colorado and Utah and did a tour of most of the Utah national parks. Then, in July, I did a west coast road trip (flew out there first!), where I drove basically from San Diego to Seattle. It was incredible! If you're someone who would enjoy renting an RV and taking a trip all around Montana, Wyoming etc, then that's a huge plus. :)

I am terribly uncoordinated. I do, however, love being outdoors, camping, and exploring nature etc.

I'm extremely socially liberal. I think that everyone should have the right to marry the person they love; I see gay rights as the civil rights issue of our time. We don't have to agree on everything political, but I couldn't date someone who didn't support everyone's right to marry who they love.

I have cats and guinea pigs. It all started with classroom pets and me being a total softie and sucker for furry things; I'd love to get a dog someday, once I have a house with a yard. So, if furry things make you sneeze, I'm probably not the gal for you.

Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
... teaching, helping people, Boggle, doodling, listening, making people feel comfortable, solving problems... I'm sure there are other things that I just can't think of.

In no particular order:
- My best friend and her two boys, my nephews. (Ok, I know that's 3, but they're a package deal.)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Trips I want to take, what I'm going to have for dinner, how much I hate most politicians, when this winter will ever end, the areas of C'ville in which I should be looking for houses, cool cameras I wish I had...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
This question is kind of funny to me because what any of us do on a typical Friday night while single is probably pretty different from what we would do if we were in a committed relationship. Here's what I would like to be doing on a typical Friday night, once I find an awesome guy:

- Dinning out, then watching a movie at home on the couch
- Having some beers at a bar with a group of friends - mine or yours or both
- Cooking dinner at home
- Drinking lots of wine
- Heading out of town for the weekend
- Playing pool
- Dinning with friends
- Doing our own thing sometimes, with the girls or guys
- Staying in bed ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I haven't had a "serious" relationship in a long time; I was too caught up in my work, and I worked too much. Then, I started having all sorts of crazy health problems, brought on/exacerbated by my lifestyle. I've made a lot of major life changes over the past three years, such as quitting my all-consuming job and becoming a private tutor. Health-wise, I'm much better but still working on it. I'm determined to get back to the point where I can do more of the things I love.

This experience definitely changed my life for the better though, since my priorities totally changed and I'm MUCH happier now!
