My self-summary
I'm a down to earth artist.

Meaning I love the IDEA of living in a poetically impoverished one bedroom apartment in Paris with nothing but my paints and lots of espresso. But when it comes down to it, I have a little too much midwestern common sense inherited from my mother to ever go 100% bohemian.

So instead I'm a (slightly) less tortured graphic designer & media specialist. My family is ridiculously important to me even though they live in the deep south and I've recently relocated to the Philadelphia area. This time last year I was living close to Portland, Oregon, and then in Northwest Arkansas. My life seems to be in a constant state of change so that's how I must like it.

I'm freckly, animated, passionate and goofy. I think hiking is super romantic. I want to be loved for my mind or possibly my exceptional vocabulary. I won't cook for you unless I'm in love with you. Picture your nerdiest childhood memory... And know in your heart I've got you beat.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a newly-employed graphic designer and communications person for a small non-profit in Downingtown.

I recently participated in a challenge where you wear dresses every day for a month- (this year it's raising money for victims of sex trafficking.)
I’m really good at
Bananagrams. Red lipstick. Womanly intuition.
The first things people usually notice about me
Eyes. Over-exaggerated facial expressions. Hand talker.

I once had a dance teacher tell me I had "sheep lips"...but she was from Scotland....
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Beatles seem to be playing at crucial junctures of my life.

MUSIC: The Beautiful Girls, Florence + the Machine, Sigur Ros, OKGO, Bon Iver, Girl Talk, Mason Jennings, Of Montreal, Annuals, Ratatat, Rilo Kiley, Sufjan Stevens, Blitzen Trapper, Dr. Dog.

TV: Flight of the Conchords, Arrested Development, Frasier, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, New Girl,

MOVIES: Almost Famous, Crash, Garden State, Love Actually, The Graduate, Mirror Mask, Away We Go, Far and Away

BOOKS: Ayn Rand, Neil Gaiman, Jon Ronson, Jen Hatmaker, Leo Tolstoy,

FOOD: I have a serious pizza and nacho weakness.
The six things I could never do without
coffee / music / my ridiculous family! / God's perfect love / crappy gin / sunshine
I spend a lot of time thinking about
People, and what motivates them to do what they do.

How to be a better human being.

Why so many people seem to have abandoned all attempts at correct American English.

How my roommate and I have managed to get ourselves into so many humiliating situations despite such a short period of time in Philly.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for my new favorite dive bar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm really bad at flirting.
Andddd I only get worse the more I like you.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 25–34
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
...If no bathroom selfies. Like, none.

If you're Catholic. Because I'm really Catholic.

Part of me is ready to find something serious, but I don't think dating should have to feel like an interrogation or filing your taxes... If you think you know how to balance playful / mature, I would like to meet you. Brainy and self-deprecating really work for me.

I just really want to make some friends around here, go out for drinks / music / hiking. And if you happen to be a tall, verbal, witty, take-charge man? Well, all the friendlier then.
