My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an unusual mix of optimism, humor, joy and ambition combined with a deep-thinking, intellectual person, who is interested in Philosophy, Technology, Science, Politics, Economics, Art, Music and Literature. I am warm, caring and sensitive, and at the same time rational and analytical. I am attentive – when you talk to me, I’m really there. I am assertive, but overly considerate. I am happy and funny and helpful and giving. I like to be affectionate and close, but still very independent.

I enjoy movies and theatre (Action Adventures, Comedies, Sci-Fi, Drama) usually with a tilt toward some positive statement about something or at least some redeeming quality. Yes, I like foreign films and documentaries too, but don't believe they are automatically superior to blockbusters. I like long walks and hiking, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and would love to get back into racquetball and maybe even tennis. I try to stay in shape, but I’m not an exercise nut. I am also into investing and stocks.

I left Engineering College before graduating to open my own manufacturing business, which I successfully ran for over 13 years. I currently work as a Quality Assurance Manager for a major electronics manufacturing firm. I'm financially stable and doing well. Nothing is exaggerated here.

I also enjoy dining out – I love ethnic foods, coffee shops, and good conversation on most any subject. If this sounds interesting to you, I would love to hear from you.

I am Deep-Thinking, Honest, and Passionate
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am recently widowed from my companion of thirteen years (almost 5 years ago now), so I'm trying to get back to a more happy and active life. It is very different from what I was used to. On the brighter side, I have been visiting and going out with friends and family that I had much less time for in the past. I do enjoy the company.

My career is going well and I keep gaining higher positions with greater responsibilities. Hmm, kind of sounds like a resume...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Conversations with the right people. Analysis of anything. Seeing the big picture. Knowing how things work and Fixing things. Understanding. Philosophy. Dealing with difficult people. Organizing and managing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My intelligence, my honesty, my concentration, and then my giving, reflective and playful personality. People tell me they think I am good just through and through.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: Braveheart, Bladerunner, The Dark Knight, Ironman, Pursuit of Happyness, Hobson's Choice, The Aviator, Charlie Wilson's War, XMen, Shawshank Redemption, Ransom, Dangerous Minds, October Sky, The Astronaut Farmer. Yes, I like documentaries, foreign and art films too, but they have to have some redeming quality, and I don't always assume they are superior.

Music: Top 10 to Classical and most things in between. Not a real fan of Jazz or Rap or Hip Hop, but like some Blues. I used to play the flute and classical guitar - very out of practice now.
Food: Almost any ethnic food: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, Cuban, Spanish, French, and Indian but have to watch the spice these days.

Books: I used to read extensively in the subjects of Philosophy, Psychology, Technology, Science, and Science Fiction, but now only have time for newspapers and magazines. I like Discover, Wall Street Journal, and the Economist right now.

Philosophy: I am an atheist and would like to avoid religion if at all possible. I don't get along well with people that are far to the left - those that don't understand how and why wealth is created and what will stop its creation, and what massive suffering that will cause. Or, people that don't understand that property rights are the cornerstone of civilization. Or, people that don't believe there is such a thing as the truth, and that we can know it to ever greater degrees. I like Ayn Rand, and consider myself very brave for saying so on this site.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A Romantic Relationship. A career I enjoy. A nice place to come home to. Friends and Family. Financial Stability. Good co-workers.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how to make my life better, and often end up thinking about what would really make the world better. I have a suspicion that most peoples interest in politics is actually personal – I believe mine is.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching a video with some popcorn. I get home very late from work and I'm often tired at the end of the week. I work very hard. The better question would be Saturday Night. I like to go out to movies, plays, theatre, visiting friends, out to dinner, or at least dessert and coffee. I like to go out, but still have no objection to staying home for a good conversation, reading, cooking an exotic dinner, or watching TV. I don't like clubs and bars and don't drink much. I'm not much of a dancer, but would be willing to try, just don't expect much at first.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm an open book - hopefully one that you'd like to read....

You are anything like me. I don't want a female clone of myself. The differences would be exciting. But in basic values and interests, we should be similar at least.
