Biographically, I was born in Long Beach, California and lived in that general area until my early 20s when I came to Dallas. With the exception of nine months in 2003, I've been here ever since. I earned a journalism degree from the University of North Texas, but soon after graduating discovered I was a much better writer than reporter, and therefore, not well-suited to the life of a newspaper man.
As a young family man, I did what I thought was best: I followed my father into the coal mines! Or, more truthfully, I turned to corporate marketing where The Man has kept me complacent with steady paychecks, performance increases, and incremental growth to my annual PTO accruals.
Regardless, I've never lost sight of what’s important, nor have I forgotten my special purpose. I believe people should be assumed good until proven evil. I love music and great stories with complicated characters. I don’t like euphemisms. I love comedy and the Los Angeles Lakers. My favorite word is "yes."
