My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an astronomer/programmer from Iceland.
I have lived in Göteborg for a few years, since I was forced to flee Iceland due to a combination of volcanic eruptions, economic instability, a corrupt government and elves.
I got my master's in astrophysics and did some research on galaxy clusters, which are so massive that they BEND THE VERY FABRIC OF SPACE AND TIME!
I am now back in Iceland to take the fight back to my homeland, also to work on medical software.

Things I have done:
Acted in musicals even though I can't sing.
Won an award in a national singing contest even though I can't sing.
Traveled twice to Asia to compete in physics (yeah they have a competition for that).
Discovered a supernova.
Shaken hands with Quentin Tarantino (man, he has huge hands).
Was an extra in Flags of our Fathers, and was cursed at by Clint Eastwood.
Stole an inflatable life jacket from an airplane just to be able to wear it with a huge sombrero.

I am a nerd and like nerdy things such as computer games, boardgames and astrophysics.

I also like less nerdy things such as weight training and photography.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just got a job working with medical software which I'm really excited about since I get to save lives! (Very indirectly, but I'm sure if my life was saved I wouldn't mind it being done indirectly.)

I've been running around taking pictures, which is awesome. I just have to find something beautiful, point my camera at it and click. Voilà! I'm an artiste!

I train Olympic weightlifting and have competed a bit (I'm on a bit of a hiatus right now, but want to get back to it soon). Few things can compare with lifting a lot of iron above your head. A quote from one of my favorite lifters comes to mind
"You got to pull on that bar like you're ripping off the head off of a goddamn lion"

My plans for the near future:
take lots of photos
learn to sail
make music

My plans for a more distant future:
Go to space
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Classical physics
Doing silly dances
Taking pictures of purdy things (although I'm also very good at getting the focus completely wrong)
Saying inane things to my cat or singing to it
Fixing computers
Comedic... timing
Not worrying about the small things (in Iceland we have motto: "Þetta reddast" or "It will take care of itself")
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not sure, will have to ask around.
I'm pretty sure it's my badonkadonk though.

(edit: after asking around, it is. It is my badonkadonk)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite book is the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, notable mentions are the Worthing Saga by Orson Scott Card and the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.
I mostly read science fiction and fantasy books but I also read some non-fiction about space travel and astronomy (I am a big space nerd). Looking to broaden my horizons so if you can recommend me some good books send me a message!

My taste in movies is rather broad but perhaps not very refined.
I love the comedies from the 80's such as Airplane! and Top Secret and I can enjoy a good action flick (Terminator 2 is the best). Of course I also watch pretty much every single sci-fi movie and one favorite that pops into my head is Minority Report (goddamn can that Tom Cruise run).
Star Wars will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I listen to a lot of trip-hop and various electronica, such as Portishead, Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and The Teddybears. I've recently gotten a lot into more modern EDM and glitch-hop and trying to make my own music. I must confess that sometimes I just have to listen to overproduced pop-music such as Lady Gaga or Justin Timberlake. I'm not really picky concerning music unless it's like noisecore or something which doesn't really put the jelly in my donut.
Michael Jackson's music is the best to dance to and I can bust out a wicked moonwalk.

My favorite food is either a medium rare steak with Béarnaise sauce and chips or my mama's meatloaf. I also love bacon and milk. A gallon of milk a day keeps the weakness away.
I hate pineapple on pizza! (I could go on forever about the evil that is fruit on pizza)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My computer
The stars
A barbell
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Chilling with friends/dancing my pants off.
If it's a clear night I may just go to the woods and erect my telescope (that came out wrong).
Slamming bars.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a mild phobia to touching wet hands when my own hands are wet
