My self-summary
Ah geez, well, here I am. How to describe myself...I am very much a logical, left-brained mind stuck inside a creative person's body. Love the outdoors and escaping the city when possible. Introverted, but very approachable. Mostly, I love a good beer, a good piece of music, and someone interesting to shoot the shit with.

Oh yeah, and my name is Nick. Nice to e-meet you.
What I’m doing with my life
Rather vague and existential question, but sure, why not? In terms of employment, I am currently the editor/multimedia producer at Autism Speaks, meaning I handle all of their in-house video needs and help produce/coordinate anything we do with outside partners.

Other than that, I fill most of the rest of my time currently with side freelance video production work, listening to a ton of music, occasionally writing and filming things for a music blog, shooting photography, and in a perfect world I would be writing and performing music as well, but that's had to fall completely to the wayside for the time being.
I’m really good at
- Actually caring about things: about what I do, about the people in my life, and about life in general.
- Laughing at myself as much as everything else around me.
- Getting angry at technology when it refuses to do the things I want it to do.
- Petting dogs. Like, if there were a competition for dog-petting, I would totally win, hands-down. I will pet all the dogs.
- Defiling the corpses and drinking the blood of my enemies.
- Cuddling
- Ironically incongruous pairings
The first things people usually notice about me
Errr...probably that I'm above average height and fairly lanky? Oh, also, probably that the color and texture of my facial hair don't match my head hair (genetics, amirite?). If they manage to talk to me or I to them for a few minutes it's probably that I'm a bit shy but come out of my shell fairly quickly if I can engage in worthwhile conversation with someone. Then you'll probably hear either some attempt at sarcastic wit or genuine enthusiasm towards something or another.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Geez, 5 different categories in one? Welp, okay then.

Books: I'm kinda all over the map with my tastes. Some politically-oriented non-fiction, some sci-fi, some fantasy, some mystery, some of the classics, some graphic novels and the like, and so on.

Movies: I'm a pretty die-hard Coens fan, and have a definite affinity for dark comedies from people like them, Charlie Kaufman, etc. Putting together a favorites list is difficult though because I generally see a film, think about it for a bit, and move on.

TV: Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Parks & Rec, Community, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, yada yada yada (speaking of which, if you can relate most moments of your life into a Seinfeld episode, this is a very good thing). Oh, and I'm kind of a huge politics nerd with an affinity for Rachel Maddow, so lots of her show...and by lots I mean pretty much every weeknight. No, I don't have a problem, I swear!

Music: Hurf...I listen to a ton of stuff and a fairly wide variety, though I'd say I have pretty particular tastes. Some of the usual indie/hipster fare, lots of instrumental rock/metal, lots of jazz, some classical, hip-hop and other genres. I like technical stuff and things that are a bit challenging but still accessible and entertaining. If you want anything more specific than that, check out my last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/Headspaced

Food: Anything but fish, basically (though I'm slowly improving in this area as well).
The six things I could never do without
1) music
2) my friends
3) my cameras
4) my family
5) my instruments
6) MUSIC (you might be detecting a pattern at this point)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why the hell I think about everything so damn much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out with friends, beer, chilling, or home decompressing after a probably ridiculous week of much work and little downtime (or sleep).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to collect rocks (like, nice-looking ones from museums and stuff, not just crap on the side of the road) and gems and the like as a kid and still have all of them at my parents' place. Also, I played flute. So basically I was the coolest fucking kid ever.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
- You wear the label of music nerd proudly and without any shame.

- Actually talking about important issues affecting people of the world in hopes of maybe figuring out the answers excites you.

- The idea of running away to the "wilderness" of New England (even if only for a weekend) gives you a thrill. Also, skiiers/snowboarders get bonus points!

- You want to be bff with Neil deGrasse Tyson and have a proclivity for writing SCIENCE! in all caps with exclamation points regardless of context.

- The idea of dating someone with an often full and erratic schedule doesn't scare you off immediately.

- You're happy and you know it.
