My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I believe and practice open communication with my friends and loved ones. It reduces drama and stress, and builds solid relationships. I have messed up plenty of relationships in the past. I learned my lessons.

My definition of "dating" is a bit fuzzy. Going out to eat, or a walk in the park, grab a drink, or to a movie doesn't necessarily constitute a date. Most of my friends are female, and we don't date, but we do things that look like dates to other people. They have boyfriends or husbands or we just don't have that kind of relationship. I have had some friendships that included "with benefits" but that just blurs the lines of "dating" as the benefits weren't exclusive, nor did they necessarily tie into any "dates."

I would like to have someone I call a girlfriend. I like monogamous relationships. I just don't see the need to be all or nothing. If I meet someone and we make an agreement to be exclusive, then those are the rules I will live by. I believe in setting ground rules to avoid confusion or hurt feelings. I tend to err on the side of caution.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently moved to Naples, FL from Ohio. I found myself stagnating and decided to shake things up. Now, I am trying to ground myself in my new home, meet new people, and explore my new town.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am a great writer. I am working on a few books, and have a couple of short stories I need to market. My friends love my characters and are always asking, "what happens next?"

I am also great with my hands. I am a trained massage therapist, licensed in Ohio. Once I get settled in Naples, I will work towards getting my Florida license.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My laugh. I tend to laugh loud and true. I find many things amusing or down right funny. Sometimes, I will think of something new and interesting and it will spark a laugh. My friends just look at me and wonder if they really want to ask what it is this time. Not everyone agrees with my humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite authors are Neil Gaimen, William Gibson, Frank Herbert, and James Clavell. There are others, but these four jump to mind first.

I enjoy movies and TV series. I hate commercials, so I prefer to binge on DVDs. My favorite movie is Bladerunner. My recent TV series that I have caught are "Penny Dreadful," and "Deadwood." I loved "Battlestar Galactica," but didn't catch much of "Caprica."

I recently discovered I really like Blues music. I've heard there are a few places in Naples where I can find it, but I haven't been out exploring the music scene, yet.

I'm game for just about any cuisine, but Mexican is my goto food. If only Mexico had a hummus dish, then I would be truly happy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Stories, whether it is audiobooks, short stories, or my own writing.

Health. I try to eat well, act well, and move well. Sometimes I slip, or over indulge, but I trend towards healthy.

Deep thoughts. What is the nature of the universe? If time equals zero at the speed of light, how does light move? What does blue taste like?

Friends. I like knowing people I can count on, people that will appreciate me for who I am, and people who enjoy my different way of thinking.

I'll have to think about the other two.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The properties of the universe (physics)
The nature of the universe (Philosophy)

My relationship with myself.
My relationships with the people I know.
