I am fun, sweet, and ME.

My Self-Summary

Hi there, my name is Heather. I'm a pretty down-to-earth girl. I enjoy spending time with friends and having long talks with sincere people, watching movies, reading, playing cards and boardgames, listening to music, getting my blood pumping with cardio exercises at the gym (you've gotta love those endorphins), going out dancing...when I'm buzzed and uninhibited, exploring the outdoors and camping, and eating good food.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a bit of a nerd. But I'm a very cool one. I can put on a pair of glasses like no one else can ;)

What I’m doing with my life

I want a fulfilling career that will allow me to help people and feel that I'm genuinely making a difference in the world. But even more than that, I want to find that special someone and share my life with him. I think that in the end, loving another person with complete vulnerability and honesty, and having that someone love you back, are a hell of a lot more significant than having your name published in some history book. So I guess you could call me a hopeless romantic.

I graduated in May of '08 from the University of Rochester with a degree in Brain and Cognitive Science, and now I'm working as a research specialist at a UPMC cognitive development lab and living "on my own" for the first time. I'm still getting used to not having homework and just enjoying post-college life in the city. I'm thinking of pursuing a Master's in Counseling Psychology at some point in the future.

I’m really good at

Being there for people, sleeping, masticating (not as dirty as it sounds!), other things...

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes and sense of humor, I suppose.

The six things I could never do without

Friends and family, books, music, my camera, sleep and food of course

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Lots of things.

On a typical Friday night I am

It depends!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've already said a lot. But I guess a goofy thing I'm willing to admit is that I'm not a big fan of cheese...

You should message me if

...you think you'd enjoy getting to know me better
