My self-summary
I have a really hard time writing general descriptions of myself, so instead here is a series of intriguing fragments about me.

Over the past 29 years, I have lived in the following cities, in this order: New York, NY, Madison, WI, San Francisco, Boston, Madison again, Austin, TX, Los Angeles, then Austin again.

When I was in elementary school, in Wisconsin, they made us wait outside in 20-below-zero weather if we were more than five minutes early. In gym class, if it was at least 40 degrees, we would play outside in shorts and short sleeves.

I studied film in college, though I'm no longer pursuing a career in film.

I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist, though I only give occasional massages.

I have more than one relative who could technically be considered famous.

Once, in college, I wrote a screenplay that I consider to be one of the worst screenplays ever written. I've never mentioned it to anyone until now.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give myself a 7.

My birth was a scheduled c-section during which my mother never went through labor.

I was born with a full head of hair.

As a teenager, I had a problem with sleep walking. I left the house in my sleep at least twice.

My senior year in high school, I led three student groups and organized a school-wide AIDS Awareness Day, and I still made honor roll.

I rode my bike 500 miles from the Twin Cities to Chicago, twice.

I was gravely ill for several months as a baby.

I have a hearing loss in my right ear, because when I was four, I started a competition with a friend based on who could jump from the highest part of a one-story ledge. I decided to ensure a win by going straight to the top, but I hit my head on the way down.

I nearly drowned in a swimming pool as a small child.

I was a county delegate for Hillary Clinton.

I believe in both Heaven and Hell, but I'm not a member of any religion.

I'm a direct descendant of Cotton Mather, the leader of the witch hunt in Salem.

I like pie.

I am terrified of flying and experience genuine fear at least once on every flight.

When I was in 7th grade, I was outed by my best friend.

One of the first guys I ever dated was recently convicted of murder.

I used to be a devoted Christian.

The idea of turning 30 doesn't bother me anymore.

I want a boyfriend. :)
What I’m doing with my life
I've been working at a bank since May and just got my first promotion after just 6 months, so I'm pretty happy about that. I'm trying decide exactly what I want to do but am thinking it will be something financial or in business.
I’m really good at
making offensive jokes.
The first things people usually notice about me
is apparently that I'm quiet, shy, or introverted. I don't think I am, but people often say it. I can be like that at first with someone I just met.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some music from my iPhone: ABBA, Basement Jaxx, Bat for Lashes, The Beatles, Bjork, Britney Spears, Cher, Depeche Mode, Donovan, Fatboy Slim, Fever Ray, France Gall, Glass Candy, Goldfrapp, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Imogen Heap, Judy Collins, Kate Bush, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Laura Nyro, Leonard Cohen, Lost Witness, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Morcheeba, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Nina Simone, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Pizzicato Five, Portishead, The Presets, Prince, Psapp, Royksopp, the Run Lola Run soundtrack, Scissor Sisters, Shawn Colvin, St. Vincent, Tindersticks, Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Tricky, Underworld, Varese.

Movies: Really too many to list. I have a huge collection and studied film in college. But I usually say Heavenly Creatures is my favorite movie of all time.

Food: I love mexican, japanese, and thai food. Also like BBQ and american food. Anything really. But when I go out mexican is usually my first choice. But that's also because I love mexican martinis.
On a typical Friday night I am
watching HBO and drinking a glass of wine.
