The Long Version
I was born and raised in a small Alaskan fishing village, my house at the end of a dirt road. For the longest time calling someone else in town only required you to know 4 digits. Alas those days are long past and now I am, technically, all grown up. After going to prep school in Pennsylvania, I came to Massachusetts to get my nerd on and became a Mechanical Engineer. After graduating I helped to co-found a cleantech start up, learned a great deal, (read things didn't work out as intended and my business partner and I shut the company down)
Now my life is in flux as I try to find a new path, hopefully it ends up with my earning Astronaut wings (my inner 12 year old will not be squashed). To that end I'm looking into graduate programs in engineering fields.
More details, if so required, I enjoy running obstacle courses like the Tough Mudder, hiking, kayaking (although I haven't been in a while), video games and so on. To make myself seem a little more interesting I can also point you to an album I made of photos from when my friends and I played videogames in front of glaciers, or in one case on onethis link.
Travel is also a delight, I've been lucky enough to visit all of the inhabited continents, with more countries than states visited. I am trying to make Antarctica happen, apparently there is stiff competition to do tedious labor on a massive ice sheet (all the science jobs needed a master's or more experience in a biology lab). Rock climbing, photography, and board games round me out.
Also I feel I should put this in here somewhere, Sarah Palin and that whole thing, not my fault, I voted against her policies every election.
