I am creative, fun loving, and fit.
My Self-Summary
Note: The icons for me at the bottom of this page are not accurate
- except the part about not being a Republican!
I have a busy day job as a public sector manager. I like it and
love the people I work with, but I am more than my job. I have been
playing rock/jazz/blues keyboards since I was 12 and play all
original music by ear. I run several times a week along the Strand
in Hermosa - 4 miles at a time. I have a large supply of bad jokes
and puns. Non-religious liberal and proud of it. Separated/divorced
for 2 1/2 years after a 22 year marriage. On cordial terms with my
ex. Great dad to two lovely young women ages 22 and 19. Not a
player - definitely a one-woman guy. In good shape and not half bad
looking for 56. Loads of fun. Really. Low-key, no pressure attitude
about dating. I'm here to ease your troubles, not bring you new
ones. Love the arts and the outdoors. 100% honest in my profile.

What I’m doing with my life
Coming to grips with my workaholic behavior. (I was a marvelous
slacker in my youth.) When we talk I'll tell you about my job.
Making the transition from the involved dad (coach, transportation
provider, cheerleader, cook, etc.). Feel like its my time to have
some fun with the right person. Focused on fitness and music. Would
like to do more in the way of collaborating with other musicians,
which I basically do none of right now. But I do play every
day.
Still a singe dad, providing a nice home for my youngest.
I’m really good at
Keeping up my end of a conversation, making you smile, playing
keyboards, staying in shape and ... the rest is for you to find
out.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm upbeat, positive and approachable. Yes, and fun to be
with.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I read and write on the job all day, so I haven't read many novels
lately. I read about current events, science, history - all kinds
of stuff. The last book I finished was called "The Bad Popes" and
was a real hoot.
Movies - any decent movie aimed at audiences more mature than a 12
year old. Don't like movies with gratuitous violence (except maybe
the Bourne Supremacy).
Music - anything good from rock to jazz to classical and even
opera. Favorite music is progressive rock.
I don't eat meat (fish OK), but can still find something on any
menu. (Some of my best friends are carnivores.) Open to all kinds.
Like spicy. Like wine. (Not a problem drinker.)
The six things I could never do without
My 1929 Wurlitzer baby grand
My kids
My Ipod
My friends
College football and a few other sports
Getting out of the house, being active and exercising
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Women - even tough I'm only really looking for one. (Hey, at least
I'm honest.)
My friends and family and their trials and tribulations
Politics and current events
Music - mine and others'
Wherever my mind wanders
On a typical Friday night I am
If I have a date, its a dinner, movie or show of some kind. If I
don't have a date, I watch something I recorded on TV and play my
keyboards. Its great to get out and walk or bike along the Hermosa
Strand in the evenings.
My idea of an ideal date is to dance close in a night club to the
sounds of a blues band.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Still waters run deep.
You should message me if
You live within reasonable distance of the South Bay, are who you
say you are in your profile, have always been female, not intensely
into any religious dogma, have a normal and healthy libido, have no
heavy baggage or an ax to grind, wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen
in a bathing suit and can be a fun-loving companion who appreciates
a good man. That's no too much to ask for, is it?
Please, no big time fibs about your age.
