My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Greetings! Welcome to my profile. Let me show you around.

I am one part cosplaying geeky Star Trek fan, one part paganish outdoorsy adventurer, one part free-thinking coffee-shop bohemian, and I am looking for same. Put another way: I am a Time Lord and I am seeking my Companion. ;)

I have a lot of interests. SF/Fantasy, in literature and media, comes near the top of the list. Philosophy, especially as it pertains to religion and spirituality, is also right up there, as is science, particularly physics and cosmology. I spend a lot of time thinking about social issues, and in that regard I identify as a feminist, a socialist, and a big-city liberal. I'm into martial arts, alternative lifestyles, permaculture, and transhumanism.

I love being outdoors and having deep conversations. I am happiest when these two things are combined. I prefer coffee shops to bars, I prefer movie theatres to sports arenas, and I'd rather stay in and order pizza and cuddle than go out to a club. (Though I do like to dance every so often, awkward as I may be.) I'm heavily into tabletop RPGs and MMOs (veteran WoW player here), writing, singing -- basically anything creative. I love arts festivals and public markets.

So that's my "geek" and "outdoorsy" flag. I have one more: I'm pagan, specifically Heathen, and it's pretty important to me. Not saying I wouldn't want to date outside my faith group, just something I'd want my partners to be aware of :)

Bless you for reading this far. As this is a dating website, here are some examples of dates I'd like to go on (some of which you'll probably have already guessed):

* We go out for coffee, talk for a while, and then adjourn for a walk along the beach or through the city.
* We catch a show at the theatre and then walk home singing the songs.
* Take a day and a couple kayaks, and explore a bay or river.
* An early morning watching the sun rise over Ironforge with a [Romantic Picnic Basket].
* Spend a weekend camping and hiking up in the mountains or on a remote island somewhere.
* Go out dancing, even though I can't dance and maybe you can't either.
* Grab a blanket and thermos and head out some night, find a field and look at the stars.
* Go to a convention in matching cosplay.
* Karaoke! :D

If any of that intrigues you, please don't hesitate to say hello! :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Doing what I do to pay the bills while I work on my novel. Organizing a local chapter of the Star Trek fan club I belong to. Volunteering where and when I can.

I want to travel more -- there's so much of the world I haven't seen. I want to live in other countries, go on so many adventures, see places few people have seen. I want to meditate at a monastery in Tibet, busk on the streets of some European city, see the stars from the south pole and the northern lights over Alaska...

I very much want to spend some time living outside the US. Not sure I'd ever want to emigrate, but I spent a summer in Brazil and it was marvelous and I'd like to do something like that again.

I want to make music, and I want to tell stories. There are books in me waiting to come out on paper, and one day I'll learn enough about film to make one.

I want a family, and children, and a nest, and a tribe. I want to meet the gods, and when I am all done, I'm going to buy a sailboat and retire to a life of piracy in the Caribbean.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, writing, telling stories, computer programming, philosophizing and cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I shave my head. I'm kinda short and broad-built. I'm not very good with facial expressions?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Stranger in a Strange Land, Slaughterhouse-Five, Time Enough for Love, Ender's Game and the rest of the saga, VALIS, and American Gods. I'm fond of graphic novels, also, with Sandman and Transmetropolitan being my all-time favorites.

I read a lot of webcomics.

Movies: I love movies. There's almost always one going on the TV. I tend to prefer sci-fi and fantasy adventure, superhero movies and anything with witty dialogue. Some of my favorites are TRON, High Fidelity, Wonder Boys, Fight Club, The 13th Warrior, Bicentennial Man, the Matrix movies (all of them) and The Princess Bride. I'll take whatever Star Wars, Star Trek and Lord of the Rings movies you have lying around, too.

Shows: Game of Thrones season! Also Mythbusters, Supernatural, and Arrow are the big ones. I catch Colbert and the Daily Show when I can. Plus (obviously) Star Trek reruns, Dr Who when it's on, etc.

Music: Death metal, trance/ambient, alt rock, jazz, classical, opera ... I like music that doesn't really sound like anything else, and the genre I listen to depends on my mood. Pandora is my friend. My favorite bands are Live, October Project, Portishead, System of a Down, Catatonia, Enigma, Dave Matthews, Great Big Sea, Copeland, and Air.

Food: I'm kind of a foodie. I love to cook; my favorite cuisines are Japanese, Mediterranean and Mexican, though I dabble all around the world. I like to make fusion meals, and I love going out to eat. I eat vegetarian as much as I can.

And I love pizza. That just can't be helped.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. I think constantly. I think about the future, and my hopes, fears, and dreams. I think about ways to improve my life. I think about God, nature and the divine, and better ways to build worlds. I think about what it means to be human, and what the fate of humanity will be. I think about love and a life of beauty.

I think about computers. I think about stories. I think about metaphysics and epistemology and ethics. I think about politics and social issues. Energy policy. Sustainable living.

Of course, sometimes I just think about games.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Ideally out with friends, more often home with the Internet X)

I'm not a "wild party" kind of guy. On my days off I like to pursue my interests, or have friends over for movies and games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have fairly strong Dommish tendencies and don't match too well with Dommish girls. That being said, I'm not too into the SM end of things, though I'm happy to be a service top. ^_^

Oh, and I might be a Cylon. Fair warning.
