I am eclectic, complex, and whimsical.

My Self-Summary

I grew up in the country and am a country girl at heart. I'm still into my gadgets and gizmos (whatever my finances will allow), but I never pass up a chance to walk through my woods and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I lived in the city for a few years and it just wasn't for me. I learned a lot of great life lessons, but my place is here in the home where I grew up and where I can be close to my family. I have a great family that's been there for me when I needed them most. I went through some hard times in the past few years, but I'm finally back on my feet and ready to live my life the way it was meant to be.

I'm moved when listening to patriotic country music. I love the sound of a hefty engine, whether it's under the hood of a classic muscle car or on an old tractor. I'd prefer to walk through the woods in my valley than through the crowded streets of some city. I like getting my hands dirty and covered in callouses, and working up a sweat doing an honest day's work, but I can also be comfortable sitting in front of a computer processing data all day. I'm an old-fashioned girl who doesn't mind if a man opens a door for me, but also believe that I can do anything I want to do with my life. I enjoy a thick juicy steak and a cold beer every now and then. I take care of myself, but don't forget to spoil myself whenever I can. The variety of the music on my laptop is as eclectic as my personality. I am me, and that's all I'll ever be. And I'm finally happy with myself.

I'm very patriotic and wish I could do more for my country, but physical setbacks kept me from joining the military outright. So I try to do what I can as a civilian (sending random care packages, giving to charities, volunteering whenever I can, etc.). My patriotism is important to me, so if you're one of those "anti-American" types, you may not want to bother with me. A relationship is about mutual understanding and being open about all things, and if there's a topic that will only cause arguments.... Well, it's just not a pretty picture.

On a physical aspect, you can probably see in my pics that I'm curvy. I'm happy with who I am and how I look and I don't aspire to be one of those anorexically tiny girls. Even if I *did* want to be super tiny, my skeletal structure would never allow it. So if the Barbie doll figure is what you're into, you'd best be moving along.... I also have 2 tattoos on my back which *desperatly* need redone (when finances allow it) and I plan to get more. I have both ears and my tongue pierced and would like to get more piercings in my ears (again, finances...). I'm not a goth freak or a metal head; I just like tattoos and piercings that are tastefully done. It's a form of self-expression.

When it comes to friends, I'm pretty damned loyal. As long as you respect me, I'll do the same. I'm always there for my friends, even the ones who haven't been the most loyal to me. Guess I'm just cursed that way. But I do manage to draw the line at some point and not become a total pushover.

"Here's to me and here's to you,
and here's to love and laughter -
I'll be true as long as you -
not a single minute after."

Yup, that sums me up. ^_^

What I’m doing with my life

I've finally gotten back on my feet after many years of stumbling in the dark. Now it's time to find my place in the world. My absolute dream would be to own and run a bookstore, but it's not exactly a huge money maker idea, so that'll probably have to wait until I have gobs of disposable income.

I’m really good at

In high school, I was all about music. One of the reasons I even bothered to join the drama class was because they occasionally did musical numbers. I took piano lessons for about 5 years, played the tenor saxophone in jazz and concert band, was in the drumline in the marching band, and sang in the general choir and the elite chorale. Now that I'm out of high school, my piano and sax skills have been lacking, but I still sing whenever I get the chance. I'm not going to say I'm "great" at it, but I enjoy doing it. If someone doesn't like the sound of my singing, they don't have to listen. Easy as that. I tried picking up guitar a couple years ago, and I did manage to learn the basics, but that's as far as I got. I'd love to learn more. Maybe my next purchase will be a decent acoustic.

I also got into writing music. My compositions never turned out all that great, but I mostly enjoy writing lyrics. There again, haven't done anything really great with it, but it's a nice passtime for now.

Along with writing lyrics, I've also been writing poetry for as long as I can remember. That's probably where I got into writing lyrics; same concept after all.

I've written several short stories that I'd like to get published one day. That's where I really tend to devote my free time.

The first things people usually notice about me

Physically, I've been told that I have great hair and eyes. I don't see it, but alright. lol.

In other aspects, I guess they notice that I tend to speak my mind when I think something isn't right, and I stand up for what I believe in no matter what others say or do. I don't mind if others have differing opinions or beliefs. They're free to have them and I'll stand up for their right to have them. But I have mine as well, and I never back down once I make a decision.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

When not pondering the technical stuff, I tend to think in the abstract. It especially helps when trying to figure out the literal things that are thrown at me.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with my family. Or meeting up with a friend. Or hiding in a dark corner with one good lamp, a comfy chair, and a book.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Wow... of all the questions, this one seems to be the hardest.... Um, I sleep nekkid? lol

Also, as is fitting of my tomboyish-ness, I can probably out-belch any man. Hope you're not looking for a girly girl. :P

You should message me if

You would like to get to know me better. I'm not afraid to answer any questions, and I have a horrible curse of honesty. Seriously, it's annoying... lol.
