I hike or bike somewhere most every weekend, and sometimes I'll backpack the entire weekend. Just recently I went straight up Mt. Cammerer with no trail. That was fun.
I'm also good at hiking. I haven't gotten into backpacking yet, but I can cover a lot of ground in a day without a problem. One of these days, I'll get my 900 miles in the Smoky Mountains. I'm approaching the 600th mile out of 791.
I'm also very independent. Most of those miles I've done by myself.
They also notice I'm pretty skinny. I wasn't always like this. Imagine me with 50 more lbs and you'll realize how much weight I've lost through hard work and exercise over the last 2 or 3 years.
Movies include 2001, Koyaanisqatsi, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (yes the 1971 movie), Network, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Shawkshank Redemption, The Princess Bride (I can quote almost all of it), and Schindler's List (which almost always makes me tear up at the end). A real man isn't ashamed to admit to that.
Books - Cosmos by Sagan, The first half of the Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth by Goodkind (although I'm NOT an objectivist).
My LAMP development box (so I can get a paycheck)
Seriously - I spend most of my time of late either thinking about work when I'm on the clock or where I'm going to hike next weekend. It's not easy coming up with day hikes in the Smokys that can both cover a lot of ground AND end up as a loop without shuttling.
