Hey guys! I've lived in Des Moines for most of my life and I love it here. I am straight edge. This is an important aspect of my life, but I don't really expect it of others. For those of you who don't know what it is, check out straightedge.com. I do not drink, smoke, or do drugs.

I went to Roosevelt High School and Simpson College. I majored in Management and minored in Marketing. Interesting stuff, but I'm not sure if the academic world is for me.

I currently help manage a coffee shop and love it very much! We're staging a bit of a revolution, and it's fun!

I <3 nerdy boys!! Intelligence is attractive. That, and it seems like the nerdy/geeky types are more sweet.

Currently, I am just working full time. Might eventually go and get my MBA... maybe... meh.

I am trying to re-build my social life. I spent six months living in the Twin Cities, which was just enough time for all my friends here to fill in the gaps. Now that I'm back in DSM, they don't have time for me!

Being happy. I tend to have a very positive outlook on life. My friends often come to me to find a little silver lining for them. I often take a child-like approach. This is not to be confused with childish. You can be mature while still maintaining a sense of innocence, optimism, creativity, and wonder.

I don't really have any hobbies, so yeah...

I'm told I'm a decent cook.

I would guess they would first notice my energy. I tend to be quite giddy/bouncy. I laugh and giggle quite often. Even the grumbly old man from my last job says my laugh is enchanting.

They also notice that I am a full-figured woman. I know this, I embrace it, and I love it. While I still focus on eating right, staying active, and just overall being healthy... I see no reason to fit into a cookie-cutter world. Women have curves. Deal with it. It has even benefited me, to an extent, because I have done some local-level plus-sized modeling!

Movies:
Slumdog Millionaire, Labyrinth, anything by Kevin Smith, anything with Jennifer Connelly.

Music:
Project, Spoken, Jason Mraz, Frank Zappa, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, They Might be Giants.

Food:
I love most Asian or Indian foods, especially Thai! The Massaman at King and I is the stuff that dreams are made of! I have my on and off bouts of being Vegan or Vegetarian, but I usually only last a few months at a time. Some people wonder why I bother, but I figure that every little bit helps.

2. Socialization. There's nothing like a good time spent with good friends.

6. Chocolate. (Yes, it is above great food and is a category of it's own!)

My taste in men. It's a little... different. My family teases me about it all the time. Things I swoon for: glasses, computer skills, an alcohol-free lifestyle.

Either working, at home watching movies, or chilling with friends. Whatever happens, happens. When you work retail, weekends, week days, they all run together and lose meaning. In my world, there is no end to the week!

So how about this? On a typical night off from work I am: Chilling with friends, out on little adventures with friends, enjoying a meal at King and I, sleeping, browsing the internet, doing laundry...

Well, it wouldn't be private then, would it??

Umm... I still sleep with my teddy bear most nights.
