My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a life enthusiast and relentless idealist. I love going on adventures and traveling. I'm a nice guy but I WILL NOT let you win at board games. I like cheap jokes and NPR. I would rather sit outside and watch a thunderstorm than go inside and hide from the rain.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For my job I handle the communications for a media nonprofit. I really enjoy my work but I've got an entrepreneurial streak. In my free time I write and report on the goings-on in Chicago, keep active, and experiment in the kitchen with cooking/grilling/homebrewing. I love exploring and unlocking new parts of the city.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh (or trying to).
Telling stories. Asking questions.
Holding the door.
Adventuring. Making up words.
Taking naps- it's kind of a superpower.
Looking at things with an open mind
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My sweet dance moves. Probably because I'm busting them out in an inappropriate place. Also, I always make eye contact with people while they talk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I'm currently looking for a new book to read. Any recommendations would be welcome and would greatly improve my El commute.

Favorites: anything by Vonnegut or Tom Wolfe, Isabel Allende's Zorro, the Autobiography of Malcolm X, the Walking Dead. I'm also a print fundamentalist- I still read magazines and the newspaper.

Movies: Motorcycle Diaries, Pan's Labyrinth, Ace Ventura (I can't help myself), The Dark Knight, and Scott Pilgrim.

TV: Game of Thrones. Also: Modern Family, The Soup, and Community. Jon Stewart and Anderson Cooper are my heroes.

Music: Rock & Roll or anything with soul. Love: Phantom Planet, Tom Petty, and the Kinks among others. Songs that always make me happy: "No Rain" by Blind Melon and "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO. Sorry for party rockin.

Food: Banana bread, sushi, aged cheddar, good beer. Anything grilled.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How someday our tweets will look like cave paintings- I mean those guys did nothing but talk about food they just ate.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Checking out some kind of concert/performance, dancing to whatever music is playing, or hanging out with my friends at a dive bar. Not necessarily in that order.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm super transparent- ask me anything.
