Check out the link above. Take a moment to read our story. We are the people who defy the odds.

I am (in a few quick words) Spontaneous, energetic, sarcastic, animated, mischievous, and passionate.

I'm very friendly, and quite talkative. If someone else was describing me, they would probably say that I've never really met a stranger. I'll talk to basically anyone.

I'm goofy, and love to laugh.

I love to karaoke, and I'm definitely the girl you laugh at for dancing in her car. What fun is life if you spend it always being super serious?

I love to travel, and will jump on the opportunity to see new places any day. I went to Spain in 2009, and that was by far my favorite vacation. In 2010 I flew to California to take a road trip across the country with someone I'd never met before. We hit 9 states in 5 days, saw a lot of really awesome stuff, including Vegas (popped my gambling cherry), The Grand Canyon, Sandia Heights, Roswell, NM, etc...

I'm definitely a huge nerd. I love playing board games and nerdy card games and you can definitely find me wandering around local conventions like Dragoncon.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Volunteering at the local humane society, working as a customer representative in a local manufacturing firm, and spending time with the people I love.

I love to be outdoors! I love kayaking, and over the last few years I've rekindled my relationship with the rivers. There are few places that do a better job of curing whatever ails me. I'd rather kayak than just about anything on a pretty day.

I try to get in some board games or card games whenever I can. We've grown a pretty expansive collection over the last few years. It's getting a little out of hand, but it's pretty awesome.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Everything. Naturally. ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My charisma and determination and my ability to have fun doing just about anything. I have a pretty awesome attitude.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I don't really have a favorite book, I enjoy all sorts of reading, although don't have much time to do so. We have quite a library in the house, and I really should start reading more.

Movies: Titanic, Pay It Forward, Latter Days, Mr. Holland's Opus, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, ORIGINAL Star Wars, Indiana Jones (Save the new one, screw that! Aliens, really?!?), Legend of 1900, Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music, South Pacific, Pride and Prejudice, The Big Lebowski, Hot Tub Time Machine, Serenity. The list could go on for days. I love movies! Thanks to a certain somebody I've been watching a LOT of really terrible B movies. Anything absolutely terrible I get to watch. I'm sort of starting to love bad cinema. :)

Also a huge tv nerd. Some favorites: New Girl, Grey's Anatomy, House, Chuck, Desperate Housewives, SGU, Doctor Who (my favorite!), Torchwood, The Office (my other favorite), How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, IT Crowd, The Catherine Tate Show etc. I loved Arrested Development, Firefly, Lost, and Battlestar Galactica. I miss them!

Music: I used to have this huge list of musicians on here. I realized that's silly. I like just about everything. I'm not a big fan of metal (really can't stand heavy metal) or excessive country. Favorite type of music is probably Folk, ranging from Mumford & Sons to Edward Sharpe to just about any Irish Pub music. I'm also found blasting classical music after a long day at work.

I'm not very picky with food My favorite food is vegetarian scallop casserole (family recipe) and Macaroni & Cheese. I also love mexican food, Italian (especially veal), Sushi, and a good Vortex burger. I don't like olives, pickles, or mustard!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, friends, a dog, modern plumbing, technology, and physical touch.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How much life has changed and how to make the best out of everything. Sometimes you get handed a really crappy hand, and the last year I've learned a lot about how to make lemonade out of apples. It's tricky, and life can be tough, but having people to love who love you makes it a lot better.

My wedding. I met my fiancé on OKCupid, and I'm really enjoying our life together. We've been together almost 3 years now, and it's pretty awesome.

How to score early retirement and become a housewife who just volunteers every day without having to worry about making a paycheck.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Trying not to be typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like my pets more than most people.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're looking for friends, particularly if you enjoy board gaming and kayaking.

Don't message me if all you can come up with to say is "hi" or if you're looking for anything discrete or inappropriate. I love my fiancé, and we're really interested in making local friends to hang out with. Don't be a jerk. I'm really too old for nonsense and drama.
