My self-summary
I make people smile, I have a really stupid sense of humor, and there's never a dull moment whenever I'm around. I love music from almost any genre, can't survive without it, but the 90's are my decade of choice. You may never meet a bigger nerd in your life (and I say that with pride).

So, I realized that I have been laser-focused on my career recently, to the exclusion of almost everything else. I'm looking to change that, starting by meeting some cool new people. Who has time to take themselves too seriously?

I am bears, beets, and Battlestar Galactica.
What I’m doing with my life
Aside from my marketing 9-to-5 (more like 8:30-to-6-or-even-7-some-days), for fun I do a podcast with two friends from a hellish retail job I used to work in my early 20's. We talk about movies, music, sports; basically anything you can geek out about, we cover.

Unfortunately, my childhood dream of being an astronaut superhero doesn't look like it's coming to pass anytime soon. My current aspiration is to become Regional Manager of Dunder-Mifflin Scranton. I'll settle for Assistant Regional Manager if necessary. Or Assistant TO the Regional Manager.
I’m really good at
...video games, random trivia questions (I know more about one-hit wonders than anyone really should), and making people laugh. I am also very very good at hitting every single red light when I am in a hurry to get somewhere.

On the flip side, I am terrible at simultaneously playing guitar (real or Guitar Hero/Rock Band) and singing. I guess my brain isn't wired that way.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I used to have a huge boring list here. I decided to cut it down to a few sentences to save something for discussion later. I will say that I don't know why I keep getting matched up with artsy-fartsy hipster types who write out every single obscure band they know, because I'm not pretentious enough to "get" indie rock.

Cheese steaks, video games, gummy bears, Foo Fighters (my favorite band), the Beatles ("Hey Jude" is my favorite song) and everything about the 90's: these are a few of my favorite things. Oh, and Jay-Z is a musical genius even though he and I strongly disagree about baseball teams. (I am a Phillies fan until the day I die.)
The six things I could never do without
Podcasts for the long drive to work and back, my iPad, my cell phone, gummy bears, a sunny sky above my head and an open road stretching into the horizon.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot about how to move on to the next stage of my life, if anyone else is a hopeless romantic anymore, and what it means to be an adult, but I still leave plenty of room in my brain for football and baseball stats and the name of the guy who played Billy in "Predator."

Lately I've been wondering why OKCupid keeps suggesting women from NYC. Nothing against New York, but that's quite a hike from Philly, guys.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually recovering from a long week. Saturday is my night to go out. I'll dress down or dress up, but I prefer places where you can actually hear the person next to you speak.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My dad survived a liver transplant and has made a remarkable recovery, he's doing well now but I try not to take it for granted. I thought I had a handle on life's ups and downs but this whole experience has taught me that life is short, and to seize every day's possibilities. Ok, serious interlude over. :)
I’m looking for

  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
...you would have just as much fun walking around a mall (or a neighborhood, etc.) joking and laughing about random things as you would flying around the world. If you have an off-kilter sense of humor, you are witty, assertive and confident and you know the difference between "you're" and "your." Also, if you have an obsession with Foo Fighters, I think we'll get along just fine. Living within a reasonable distance of Philly is nice too.

It would help if you aren't making that weird pouty face while throwing up a gang sign in any of your pictures. Oh, and is your profile a long, nasty list of people you don't want to talk to? Bye.
