My self-summary
I'm a bit of enigma. I am a huge nerd/geek who enjoys going outside every weekend. I don't have any kids of my own, but I love kids and they love me. I'm not your typical geek nor your typical jock.

I was married for 17 years and not happy for many of them so I finally called it quits. I didn't like giving up but it was just over.

I work at a bottling factory in Joplin, Missouri where I do Automation/PLC work (I'm the guy who fixes the electrical problems and computer issues on our machines) and I have the best boss ever.

Since the divorce I have gotten a great group of friends that I enjoy spending time with. I go backpacking or something outside every weekend that I am not working. This summer I went with them to Peru to climb a mountain. I successfully made the summit of almost 19,000 feet and it was a amazing experience. I plan on going and climbing a mountain or something similar ever year from now on.

I love to travel and see and do new things. I have a pretty good bucket list going. We live in a huge amazing world and I want to see as much of it as I can.

I think that this with the other questions is a good start. If you have any questions just ask.
What I’m doing with my life
I have been happily divorced for 4 years now. I am totally happy with my job, life, and friends. But the single life can be lonely and I'm wanting to find a somebody special in my life so I'm getting back out there so to say.

I do want to do something to help people someday in a big way. So something like the Peace Corps would be something I would like to work towards. But my mother is getting older so I need to be closer than Africa if she needs help. Peace Corps will simply have to wait for the future.
I’m really good at
I'm the guy that knows all the useless information. I don't know why but this kind of stuff just sticks. I have a great memory and can remember little things that are useful or useless.

I can also fix your computer, but I would rather teach you how to fix it yourself.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm tall. I don't tower over everybody but 6 1 lets you stand out in a crowd. I don't really notice unless I see somebody huge standing next to somebody, but then when I walk up I find myself looking down at that actually shorter than me huge person.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Okay books. I love Science Fiction, Biographies, Fantasy, Cook books, the occasional horror novel. My library is quiet varied and my kindle has everything from 200 year old classics to the latest novel a friend told me I just have to read.

Movies. I am a HUGE movie buff. I love them from the latest big budget Science Fiction epic to the little art house movie that is on that I drive a hour to go see with friends. I have a yearly movie festival that all my friends love. I recently drove 2 hours to watch Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen. Totally worth it. So yeah movies are important to me.

Shows. I love them, but it is pretty hard to to get to see them in this area. When one is close enough to see I will travel to go see them. I hope to make it to New York soon and catch a few shows while I am there.

Music. I love a lot of different types of music. Not a big fan of "NEW COUNTRY and whatever you call the music Justin Beiber does" My favorite artists range from Johhny Cash, and Tom Waits to Alternative like Tool and Perfect Circle. Old stuff and New I will give anything a try. If you are afraid to try new things how will you know if you like it.

Food. I don't eat Liver, Brains, etc. Other than that I love everything else. from Indian, Sushi, Vegan, Southern Fried chicken to Thai. I have tried a vegan diet but I became bored with it but I will sometimes go back to it for a few weeks. I do eat healthy all the time so the death of the Twinkie did not effect me. I am also a great cook and have a really varied skill set. I have never attempted baking though I may sometime in the future.
The six things I could never do without
Since I back pack there isn't much but the basic shelter water food etc that I cannot do without for a week or 2.

Phone. It's my life line to information and contact with friends and my mother. I'm a knowledge junkie and am constantly reading some interesting Wiki article or the latest news on science of technology

Backpacking. This is what I do when I am not working weekends. I hike hundreds of miles a year in Arkansas. I also try to make at least a yearly trip out of the country or a week or more long expedition to someplace in the West. This is how I help maintain my health and fitness. It is also how I relax and spend time with my friends.

Books\Magazines. Once again for information and entertainment. I don't read as many books as I would like, but I read a lot more than most.

Movies. I hardly watch regular series TV, but I almost always have a movie playing. it can be something I have seen a dozen times or something I have never seen. I consider it art, and I love watching how a actor shows his craft or a director of photography will make something seem so magical that you believe it to be real.

Video Games. Yes I play video games. No I don't play them every day and sometimes not for weeks. But they helps me relax and gives me something challenging to do on occasion.

Friends. My mom is the only family I have left, and I am a social person. Without them I don't see what the point would be. I make friends easy and I keep them. I have a group of people that I love to be around, and spend time with. I am lucky to have them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about the future a lot. What is my next big mountain I want to attempt to climb. Having goals is important. I also think about finding somebody to spend time with more and more. That is why I'm here. I'm not in a rush for the one for me, but I'm ready to try.
On a typical Friday night I am
If it's a weekend that I work then it is just working out, eating and relaxing before bed. If it is a weekend I am not working then I am probably packing for my weekend backpacking trip.
