I am passionate, playful, and free.

My Self-Summary

I come from an Ontario sized small town. I moved in with a friend of mine from home in November 2007. My roommate's brother (another friend of mine) recently moved in with us ... & back out again. I really like turtles - & monkeys. I love lavender, I use it whenever possible. My favourite "stone" is obsidian. (I say "stone" because it isn't technically a stone, it's volcanic glass).
I love tattoos & piercings. Currently, I have the top of my left ear pierced & seven tattoos. I have a couple more tattoos planned, but I'll probably call it quits around there. I'm a small girl & I'm running out of library approved room.

What I’m doing with my life

We moved October 1st 2008, to a place with less structural issues - yay!
I did my time at Slaveway & now I only work at the library. I enjoy helping to keep books accessible to the general public. I would say it's boring, but we get so many colourful people visiting us! One more promotion & I'll be making money, I swear.
Right now I'm looking to get more involved in politics/activism/volunteering. There are so many worthwhile causes out there it's hard to decide what I want to dedicate my time to, so if anyone has an idea let me know!
Basically, I'm just ... living, for myself. Trying to figure things out & waiting to see what happens. Looking for some adventure along the way. I love meeting people & trying new things ...
At some point in the future I'd like to visit Eastern Canada, New York, Australia, Europe & Japan - just once.

I’m really good at

Writing horrible poetry (see my journal for classic high school literature).
Honestly though? Probably not a whole lot right now. However, there's a whole bunch of stuff I'd like to improve on. For instance, self sufficiency is important to me so I'd like to learn how to make my own clothes & improve my cooking.
I'm also interested in martial arts, archery, music, language, etc!

The first things people usually notice about me

It depends ...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I read. A lot. My taste in literature is similar to my taste in music. A lot of books pass by me at the library & I tend to pick up whatever interests me. I don't actually have many favourites, Loveless! & The Hannibal series! are a couple good ones though.
By the way, I do enjoy anime - it's just not something that's a huge part of my personality.

We don't have cable - but we do have really fancy rabbit ears, so I catch a couple shows here & there. The one show I keep up to date on is House!

Movies: I don't watch many movies but comedies are great ... horrors too (as long as I have someone to watch with). I love the Hannibal series! (Even if they don't compare to the books). My favourite actor is Adam Sandler, I really like the characters he ends up playing.

Music: My favourite CD is Supralingua, Planet Drum by Mickey Hart, it's all hott native drum beats & vocals & stuff. I really like listening to the radio (I have terrible tastes in music, I know), so I don't really have any favourite artist, band, or song. My favourite stations are: Mix 99.9, B101.1, 104.5ChumFM & 107.5KoolFm (Those are from Ontario ... haven't yet found my groove here). The one thing about music is, I can't just sit there and listen, I have to be doing something.

*In general, if it made me think I probably enjoyed it.

Oh & my favourite game is The Sims2, plus expansions :P

Food: I am essentially vegetarian (better for the animals, environment & me), admittedly though, I have a hard time keeping away from seafood. Other than that, there's nothing I will not try at least once. My favourite food is probably some type of pasta. As far as drinks go I'm addicted to chai, or tea if you will.

The six things I could never do without

Friends & family are the same thing to me,
My radio ... (Which doubles as a phone :P),
Strength,
Moisturizer (I live in Calgary),
The internet &
Rest ... (My bed = box spring + pillow top + extra fluffy comforter & pillows, mmm)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The whos, whats, whys, whens, hows & wheres of life. I'm always thinking about something, but never getting anywhere lol.

On a typical Friday night I am

Wasting time. I'm not much of a partier club person. I like teahouses, new restaurants, coffee shops, malls, bookstores, plays, museums, science centres, libraries, the outdoors, etc!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't know, ask me. I'm very open, I could easily tell anybody anything about myself ...
How about the fact that I never learned how to ride a bike? Yep. I was too afraid of looking silly & as I got older it got worse & worse. However, rather than taking transit, I'd like to start biking to work in the spring/summer/autumn, so it's going to be the first thing on my to do list next year!

You should message me if

You want to.

I could write about my ideal lovers, companions & friends, but you never know who you could fall in love with, or become great friends with ...
