My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Caitlin. I'm kinda shy & self-critical, so answering vague questions, like "tell me about yourself" is a kind of terrible idea.

Hopefully you notice some mutual interest or something in my profile that makes you want to talk to me about it. Hopefully while discussing these things we'll get to know each other better than I could summarize here anyways.

I love tattoos & piercings. I don't have any piercings though, they never seem to work out for me.
I really like turtles & monkeys. I love lavender; I use it whenever possible.
I have a pet corn snake named Kisuke, after the Bleach character; two gerbils called Lavender & Violet & a dwarf hamster named Bijou.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I would say working at the library is boring, but so many colourful people visit us! I am also a doer of tedious tasks; from data entry, to button processing, to code checking & more!

I'm currently working on getting myself together.
There are a number of good intentions I have had for some time now, such as learning the bass guitar, the flute & sign language.
I'm also interested in getting into martial arts, maybe something a bit more passive like Tai-Chi & I love gardening; not that I'm really skilled, I just like mucking about outside.

I finished a women's bridging program on Native women's issues with the intent on starting a degree in psychology.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing horrible poetry (see my journal for classic high-school literature).

Honestly though? I'm not entirely sure at the moment. However, there's a whole bunch of stuff I'd like to improve on. For instance, I'm constantly working on improving my cooking (inspiration is an issue here).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really don't know. I think it's that I'm awkward at first. (I get uncomfortable when I'm not sure what to say.) I hope it comes off as more adorable than ditzy as I'm more intelligent than this would otherwise lead one to believe.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
When I can handle it emotionally, I enjoy books, movies, shows & music that tell stories about tortured souls & people who have to battle insanity or some horrific transformation; sadly, it seems as though well written tragedies are a lost art. I'm a big fan of the anti-hero & stories that make you think; recommendations are always welcome!

Books: The Loveless (manga) & Hannibal series, The Dresden Files, We3 (graphic novel).

I appreciate the art styles of anime. However, I find many of them far too over-dramatic to sit through; I would much rather read manga. I'm definitely open to more exposure though!

Settlers of Catan is one of my favourite boardgames & a staple in get-togethers with friends. Carcassonne has also become quite popular, but I really like the funny ones like; Munchkin, Gloom, Cards Against Humanity & Cranium. Once again, recommendations are welcome!

We don't have cable - but we do have really fancy rabbit ears. (Although if I watch tv at all these days, it's usually online.) I enjoy cartoons like The Simpsons; Psychological shows about hoarding, addiction & obsession; The Big Bang Theory; & shows about tattoos. House & 3rd Rock From The Sun are probably my favourite shows that aren't on anymore. Avatar: The Last Airbender was a really good series.

Movies: I don't watch many movies but comedies are great, especially hilariously awful movies ... and maybe the occasional thriller. I love the Hannibal series, even if they don't compare to the books. The Phantom of the Opera was also an amazing movie.

Music: I tend to like angsty female artists like Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan & Serena Ryder. My favourite CD is Supralingua, by Planet Drum & Mickey Hart, it's all hott native drum beats & vocals & stuff. Lately I've been craving passion, tension & desire in my music, but having a real hard time finding what I'm looking for. More recommendations? Lol. Undisclosed Desires by Muse has become a favourite song.
In terms of learning, eventually I'd like to get back into hand drums & then maybe tackle the violin ...

Oh & my favourite game is The Sims2, plus expansions :P I've also played a fair bit of Skyrim.

Food: I am essentially vegetarian. Admittedly though, I have a hard time keeping away from seafood. Other than that, there's almost nothing I will not try at least once. My favourite food is probably vegetarian cabbage rolls, poutine & crepes; sushi is a guilty pleasure. As far as drinks go I'm addicted to chai, or tea if you will (but more specifically the Indian spiced kind).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Kinda lame, but friends & family are the same thing to me;
The internet (& presumably a way to use it) &
Rest ... (Box spring + extra fluffy comforter & pillows, mmm).
Ok, so I may have cheated a bit ...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The whos, whats, whys, whens, hows & wheres of life?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not much of a partier club person; my dates don't especially fall on Fridays. I like teahouses, new restaurants, coffee shops, malls, bookstores, plays, museums, science centres, libraries, the outdoors, etc!

I'd also like to try out archery or any net sports like volleyball, tennis & badminton. Honestly don't really know the rules though.

... or maybe we could ride horses on the beach at sunset. :P
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know, ask me. I'm very open, I could easily tell anybody anything about myself ...

How about the fact that I still haven't really learned how to ride a bike? Yep. When I was young, I was simply too afraid of looking silly & as I got older it only got worse.
I walk a fair bit, or I just take transit. However, I do intend to learn for environmental reasons as well as for my own health.
I'm not great at swimming either, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it.
