I love reading and cannot live without books. I am usually tweeting some article that brings me some amount of joy or something I am not at all pleased with.

I may come off as shy at first but after that forget about it.

I'm nerdy and fun. School is serious to me, and I am working hard in academia and plan on sticking around for a while.

I can talk as well as listen. I love video games, books, movies, music, roller coasters, walking, etc. Sometimes it's who you're with not what you're doing.

Family is important to me. I often travel to Buffalo to see my parents, sisters and nieces but have family all over the Tri-State as well.

I'm a Sociology PhD student. I plan on teaching and doing research after graduation, hopefully I can get a good job. Right now besides working as a research assistant I'm a adjunct instructor at a local community college.

I love to laugh. I love music, musicals, books, movies, stupid websites, tv, talking, video games, board games, I entertain pretty easily if I'm with the right crowd, like I said it's the people.

I am also serious. My education is very important. So is social justice advocacy. We don't need to agree on everything but critical thinking is so important and discussion is fun. I am really involved in social media, in part for work and in part for my own benefit.

If I can get a tenure track job I will stay in NYC. I would love to spend some time working in Puerto Rico, Cuba or some other part of Latinoamérica even if only temporary.

My friends and family say I've got a nice butt. I'd agree.

Music: Musica Latina is my go-to. Really love a mix of salsa and merengue. Celia Cruz is one of my idols. Totally love her, Shakira, Marc Anthony, Calle 13, La India, Hector Lavoe and more of the greats; I love pop and top 40; Adele, as of late and I always loved Pink, Britney, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Beyonce, JLo, Ani DiFranco, Alanis Moorissette, I'm really pretty open; I love 80s and 90s music (Spice Girls and Geri Halliwell) and love the new stuff Pandora shares with me as well as house and freestyle

Books: Harry Potter series (is #1), religious books, Wicked series, Charmed series, sociology related work, race, gender, Latino and sexuality stuff in particular, Classics like Dracula, Pride and Prejudice; Teaching to Transgress by bell hooks, Tim Wise, I don't read as much as I used to (for pleasure at least) but I love fantasy and magic.

Movies: Everything from docs, the stupid, the serious and everything in between: Volver (and Almodovar overall), Jane Austen Book Club, Easy A, Miss Congeniality, Colombiana, Woman on Top, For Colored Girls, Born Rich, Iron Man, X-Men, The Avengers, Super Hero movies, The People Speak, Matilda, Wall-E, the Lion King, the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Scream, Scream 2, Scream 3, Nightmare on Elm Street (original), Halloween (original), Before Stonewall, After Stonewall, Dangerous Living, Netflix queue is filled with stuff to watch. I love Spanish language and other non-English films: Tambien la Lluvia, Teers Mah Khan, etc. Musicals, Disney, docs, good horror, my movie tastes vary. Down for most any type of film.

TV: I'm really into How I Met Your Mother (I love Marshall) and Big Bang Theory as of late but I love Charmed (still)! Drop Dead Diva, Buffy, Ghost Whisperer, IT Crowd, I like Glee, New Girl, and crime shows but really like Criminal Minds, and Law and Order:SVU.

Food: I love Latino food (Puerto Rican and more), but I like trying new foods. I love some Greek, Italian, of course BBQ food (and more often than I care to admit, fast food :/ )
