My self-summary
I'm more suited for fall and winter, mostly because I like wearing sweaters and scarves. My iPhone case makes it look like an old Game Boy and my house keys have covers on the tops that make them into robot heads. Whatever kind of pizza you like best is still inferior to New Haven pizza. Despite my former career in IT, I'm inching my way towards hating technology. Organized religion doesn't impress me. The referendums on gay marriage and legalizing marijuana this past election give me hope that this country might yet avoid being overrun by flyover state conservatives. My collections include those little plastic helmets you get ice cream in at baseball stadiums, posters from amazing art exhibits I've been to, pint glasses from microbreweries I've toured, and Criterion Collection blu-ray movies. My next life goals are to play a round of golf on every continent and to go to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It took me a long time to figure out but I've realized that since people are always going to laugh at you, you might as well earn it, so I have no problem intentionally making a fool of myself. I wish I worked in downtown DC so I could eat lunch at a different food truck every day.

This is disturbingly accurate in my case: http://xkcd.com/616/
What I’m doing with my life
Saving the world, duh! Working for the feds, wondering if I sold out, trying to enjoy myself in the meantime. I'm working a crazy schedule so my free time comes in random chunks rather than always on weekends. When I'm not cooped up at the office, I'm usually at a museum or kayaking or at the driving range.

I recently realized that I've never broken a bone, and I'm worried it means I've led a sheltered or boring life, without any real adventure.
I’m really good at
The New York Times crossword, trivia, Wii tennis, mini-golf, throwing a frisbee, remembering what else that actor was in, planning road trips that may or may not ever happen.
The first things people usually notice about me
My photographic memory and sarcastic wit. Sometimes the fact that I don't wear socks to work if it's over 90 degrees out.

The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:

- New York City
- Chuck Taylors
- Pandora
- SmartTrip card and Bikeshare fob (I hate cars)
- Brita
- alarm clock (sad but true)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Girls who are boys who like boys to be girls who do boys like they're girls who do girls like they're boys, when they'll finally tear down RFK and build DC United a new stadium, how much I loathed Las Vegas the entire time I was there, whether the democratic reforms in Myanmar are the real deal, why OKC won't let me filter by a smaller radius than 25 miles (which allows for way too much real estate outside the range of Metro), how to convince people to stop buying bottled water, whether I should go back to Space Camp as an adult (yup, did it as a kid, hope nerds are sexy), how much I hate when people refer to this area as "the DMV," why everyone gets the question about what "wherefore" means in Romeo and Juliet wrong (just look it up!), whether I will ever stop being addicted to the pterodactyl song on The Oatmeal. Seriously, I listen to it like twice a day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for fun activities! Jazz in the sculpture garden, a Nats game, mini golf at H Street Country Club, a symphony performance at Strathmore, a play at Woolly Mammoth, a show at 9:30 or the Black Cat, a foreign or indie film at E Street. This town has way too much going on to just waste away at home!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've never dated a girl with 20/20 vision. My mom thinks maybe that's why they're willing go out with me. She's kidding. I hope.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–31
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating
You should message me if
You're liberal, geeky, literate, a beer snob, into public transit and black and white movies, live in DC (not just inside the Beltway), and generally up for exploring all the cool stuff going on in DC. Also if your profile makes no reference to your inability to date someone who roots for your sports team's bitter rival. Seriously? I like my teams, but not that much.

Not to sound negative, but if your "can't do without" list includes God, Jesus, or the Bible, we're unlikely to get along, so that would be more of a "you shouldn't message me" category.

A million bonus points if you can identify this quote:

"Look Dad, it's a bear."
"No dear that's a frog. Bears wear hats."
