As far as music goes, I own literally thousands of albums, some of them ridiculously obscure, others unashamedly poppy. Currently listening to Sparks, XTC, Joanna Newsom, Chris Watson, Midlake, Wilco, Trembling Bells, Martin Carthty, Dave Swarbrick, Hefner, Satie, Animal Collective, Bjork, Belle & Sebastian, Fairport Convention, A Hawk & a Hacksaw, Bill Callahan, Flying Burrito Brothers, Abba and right at this very minute Hounds of Love by Kate Bush. Some composers that I like: Morton Feldman, Luciano Berio, Arnold Schoenberg, Olivier Messiaen, John Cage, Steve Reich. At the moment I am also enjoying any kind of music that involves the harpsichord, especially Bach's Harpsichord Concertos and Goldberg Variations.
I don't watch many films but I will watch anything directed by Lars von Trier, Wes Anderson, David Lynch and Pedro Almodovar. Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain is pretty fucking good too. I've recently seen and enjoyed a lot of French new wave stuff, particularly Last Year in Marienbad and films by Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard.
There should be a space for art in this section. I like Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington (who also happens to be a great writer), Max Ernst, Rene Magritte, Marcel Duchamp, Joan Miro, Joseph Beuys, Richard Long. Also, strangely enough, I like the pre-Raphelites. I have an interest in sound art, particularly that which is recorded from nature.
Food: I'll eat just about any type of cuisine. The spicier the better.
You want a supportive man who will be comfortable in a relationship where it is mutually understood and agreed that you will be the primary decision maker.
