My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! I'm a egg-nog lover and film buff who also has a great sense of humor and a talent for self-aggrandizing hyperbole. I'm a very laid-back person, and I enjoy meeting new people and doing new things, although I can be a little reserved at times. I love having conversations about everything from deep, complex topics to things like who would win in a fight between a 100 foot tall ant and 100 one foot tall Velociraptors.

I also once got my hand cut off in a tragic birdhouse-related construction accident. Seriously. But I got better.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently working on a degree in History, concentrating on American and European History, as well as Classics, along with a Minor in Latin. I hope to go on and earn a Masters after that. In the long run, I hope to work for either a Major Museum or Library, or perhaps in the State Department, although I am very open to other, more exotic options. Like working on a boat.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a fairly creative person, so most things that involve some sort of creative input. I'm pretty good at holding an interesting conversation. I can also mix drinks fairly well. I'm also quite good at drunk Mariokart, which may or may not relate to the previous point.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My beard, usually. I get complimented quite often on the way I dress, so I guess that as well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
This is a hard question for me, since my favorites list is constantly growing.
Books: I'm a big Fantasy and Sci-Fi fan, as well as Mystery and Horror. I do enjoy books of all kinds though, and almost compulsively collect and read them. H.P. Lovecraft, Douglas Adams, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Terry Pratchet, Issac Asimov, to name a very few favorites. I also love historical books of all kinds as well. And A Song of Ice and Fire. And comic books and graphic novels. Most anything with pages with words on them really.

Movies: I love almost all movies. I'm a huge film fan. You would be hard pressed to find a genre or kind of film that I don't like. I love watching movies, talking about movies, everything about them. Some favorite directors are Herzog, Kubrick, Kurosawa, Scott, Miyazaki, Mel Brooks, and anything by any of the Pythons. And Anchorman. I'm also a huge fan of movies that are so bad that they loop around and become good (See: The Room, Birdemic, Manos, the entire Nic Cage filmography, etc.) I will also complain endlessly about George Lucas. I wrote my thesis on monster movies and the Cold War.

Shows: I don't watch a lot of television, but some random shows I really enjoy are The X-Files, Star Trek (all series), Game of Thrones, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Futurama, all of Adult Swim, Joy of Painting, Rick Steve's Europe. I also own every episode of Monty Python. Also Iron Chef.

Music: Like Film, I enjoy all kinds of music. I particularly enjoy finding unique or otherwise strange and different kinds of music. And Sea Shanties, love me some Sea Shanties.

Food: I love Italian, Cajun, Japanese, Mexican...erm...I just like food.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about History, Politics, Books, Music, Film, and generally whatever strikes my fancy. I am a bit of a day dreamer as well.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am usually hanging out with friends watching hilariously bad movies, playing video or board games, having a couple drinks, playing table-top RPGs, and generally just having fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am the long-lost evil twin billionaire who everyone thought was dead, but was in reality impersonating my twin brother to get revenge on him from a Mexican Soap Opera.
