I am a very logical person, but I have a hard time being serious
for extended periods of time (the world is too amusing). I grew up
in North Dakota, and I moved here for school.
What I’m doing with my life
I am in graduate school, currently studying social psychology at
Brock. I study prejudice, political ideology, and sexual
I’m really good at
I'm good at statistics and mathematics in general. Ok Cupid should
change the heading to "I'm good at" because the title seems to make
everyone feel awkward.
The first things people usually notice about me
I come across as an odd guy. I'm actually ok with that, though,
because it's a very appropriate characterization.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lord of the Rings
Beyond Good and Evil
The Walking Dead
Game of Thrones
Anything :) Lately I've been listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Gil Scott-Heron, Noir Desir, and Patrick Wolf.
I'm starting to cook more, now that I'm on a vegan diet. I like most types of food, as long as it's not animal based or pickles.
The six things I could never do without
Excluding basic biological and psychological needs:
internet (I recently went over a month without internet!)
interesting and/or weird conversation
I think that's it. It doesn't take very much to make me happy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about my research a lot. I often find myself thinking about
how social norms and the power systems within society have shaped
whatever is going on around me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I'm out drinking. Sometimes I'm browsing wikipedia.
Sometimes I'm playing Settlers of Catan or other board games. I
don't really have typical Fridays.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm probably closer to 5' 11'' than 6' tall, but I'm so close I decided to cheat a little. :)
You should message me if
you enjoy interesting conversation, have a sense of humor, and are
motivated, kind, and sane.
